Default Want Borla 60547, Can't find, What Are My Options???

Ok, ... Well, I effed up! 2 years ago I bought the Corsa Double Helix clone, SR1 3.00" inch X Pipe that was sold on the forum. I was only looking for that sound that I had heard from the 2.75" inch Borla X pipes. I quickly learned you will NOT get that snap, pop & crackle sound of the 2.75" Borla X from any 3.00" X pipe. Had I not given away my OEM 2.75" X pipe with cats, I'd just have a muffler shop cut the cats off and reinstall that pipe! 😢 The Corsa clone pipe changed the exhaust note, and made it a little louder, but I've never been happy (Missing the desired burble,snaps/crackle). I recently did a muffler delete to go with the Corsa clone pipe, and again the note improved, got a little deeper and slightly louder with some occasional mild pops/crackles ... Better for sure, but still am not there yet, for me! (I don't want a burble tune, or add headers or any of that ...) People are getting double the original price for used Borla 60547 X pipes on this forum, .. if you can actually find one!! So what's the best way to get back to the factory 2.75" size piping instead of this 3.00" X pipe that I have?? (I have regretted not paying the $150 extra for a Borla 60547 ever since they took it off the market. ) Can a muffler shop just run me (2) 2.75" pipes back to the axle and connect to my tail pipes ... successfully??

Maybe I can buy the Borla 60548 X Pipe, which is the short version (meant for attaching to your Cats instead of replacing the Cats) , and just have a muffler shop fabricate the missing section where the cats were that bolts up to the down pipe?? 😕

best bet is to do custom fabrication. Any decent shop can extend the borla 48 version in a few hours.

Your best bet now is to have a custom job done. Any decent shop will be able to do it.

Maybe you can source an OEM X-pipe with cats locally for cheap, people always keep them laying around, and then have a muffler shop cut the cats out. Probably easier and cheaper than a full custom job?

Find a couple good pix of the X-pipe you're interested in and take to a good muffler shop. There is no reason they cannot make a facsimile, though they should pull off the one one it in order to locate everything correctly. All the best.

Thanks everybody, .. some good suggestions here for sure. I never envisioned I would want my original X pipe back after I gave it away. I did look at the For Sale items in the forum, and everything there was basically previously sold, or were asking $700+ for a used item. I'm thinking my best (safest) option at this point will be to either locate an OEM unit and cut out the Cats, or buy the Borla "48" version and have the muffler shop add the necessary extension to it. I'm thinking .. a custom bent unit by the muffler guys might run into fitment, or vibration, or some other unforeseen issue that could be avoided by using OEM or Borla. Yep!, I think I got a plan! .... For Sale very soon, (1) slightly used SR1 clone Corsa Double Helix 3.00" X pipe for C7 Vettes . $200 shipped!

Finding a used unit is probably the easiest/cheapest, but a custom job should have no issues with fitment/vibration/etc. If it does then that shop is putting out poor work. If that is your logic, then buying a Borla and having they fab the extensions would run into the same issues.

In your situation based on posts, find yourself an oem setup and go that route.

I'm interested in your SR1.X pipe when you're ready to sell.
