I have found over the years;
If, when you first start the car, whether sitting overnight or just for 5 min., you shift from 1st to 2nd while stopped and then back to 1st, it doesn’t flair shift.

I can't vouch for this as I can't see how it would have anything to do with stopping shift flair

Yep A6 can shift flare as any adaptive transmission can . I had to do the garage relearn on my C6 A6 twice in 65,000 miles that I owned it
