Oil Change Recommendations
I purchased a pre owned 2015 Z51 3lt. It is time for the first oil change before an extended road trip. The oil fill cap recommends Dexos 5 W 30. My dealer says they use Dexos spec 0 W 30. I realize Dexos is a spec , but what oil is recommended by brand. TIA

Use the GM specified 5W-30 or 0W-40 dexos2 which either is fine for your C7.
GM recommends Mobil1 which should be on your oil cap.
The below may help since this is your first oil change and your Z51 dry sump system is a little different than your standard oil change.
Checking Oil:
1. To obtain an accurate engine oil level reading, warm up the engine to at least 175°F (80°C). Cold oil will not give a correct oil level reading.
2. Once the engine is warm, turn off the engine. Checking the oil while the engine is running will result in an incorrect oil level reading.
3. Wait at least five minutes (but not more than 10 minutes) to allow oil to drain and settle in the engine.
4. Remove the dipstick from the external engine oil tank and clean it with a lint-free paper towel or a cloth. Re-insert the dipstick into the external oil tank,
pushing it all the way in until it stops.
5. Remove the dipstick from the oil tank and read the level on the cross-hatched area. Oil levels that fall in the cross-hatched area are normal.
Changing Oil:
Can use one jack pad, jack and one jack stand and still get the last drop!
1) Jack up just the driver’s side, install jack stand.
2) Remove the drain plugs (2 plugs/GM part# 11562588) over a large 15 quart, low profile drain pan ($10 @ Advanced Auto).
3) Raise car slightly; remove jack stand.
4) Lower car with both drain plugs open and pan in place. Fully drains all oil from the side plug and front drain plug in dry sump.
5) Raise car, reinstall jack stand and put plugs back.
6) Remove and install new oil filter (AC PF64/12706595), remove jack stand and lower car, fill with 9.0 quarts Mobil1 ESP 0w-40 Dexos2 oil and reset OCM. You can check oil and add part of 10th quart to bring to full, however 9 quarts will fill to approx. center of hash marks which is to specification.
AC Delco made some changes to the PF64. The old version, part number12640445 was a little longer, changed to 12696048, is a little shorter and now the current GM #12706595.
Resetting the OCM (Oil Change Monitor)
Scroll down to oil life remaining on the DIC (Driver Information Center, left control on the steering wheel) and press and hold the Set/Reset button.

My '18 still has the OEM Mobil 1,10W30 sticker on the filler-cap; only being street driven that's what I use and shall continue to use.

Avanti: Your cap should say 5-30. My 2017 says Mobile 1 5-30 on the cap. 2018's had same requirement as my 2017, 5-30. I think the 2019's had the 0-40 that they introduced so you could use it on the track and street without changing the oil. We can also use 0-40. I see no advantage of it in the San Diego climate I live in. Don't track.

I switched to the Mobil 1 0W-40 dexos2 . At Sebring the Mobil engineers talked about the difference between the 0W-40 dexos2 and Dexos 5W-30. They recommended the change also.

For a street driven C7 the 5W-30 or 0W-40 are both totally acceptable.
Mobil 1 is the brand GM recommends for the Corvette, read all about it here:

In 2018 GM issued TSB 18-NA-129 that introduced 0W-40 oil as approved for all C7 LT-1, -4 and -5 engines.
The main benefit was that with the previously approved 5W30 oil, tracking the car required draining the oil, filling with 15W50 for the track then draining and refilling with 5W30 at the event's conclusion. The 0W 40 is approved for both street and track for the engines indicated.
"Mobil 1 Dexos 0W-40 released for the 2019 Model 2™ Year engines can be used in 2014-2019 Corvettes with the LT1, LT4 and LT5 engines. When tracking the 2019 ZR1, it is required to install Mobil 1 15W-50 oil. Once the event is finished and the vehicle is put back on the road, the Mobil 1 15W-50 needs to be removed and Mobil 1 dexos2 0W-40 added back to the engine."

FWIW: One caution on that. There was an extensive story on the forum about an owner of a pre-2019 car that had an on-track failure while using the dexos 0W-40 oil. This was after the bulletin came out. Story was that GM refused to warranty the engine failure because his owners manual specified 15W-50 for the track.
