Finally bought a Vette!
Thought I'd nerd out and introduce myself. Grew up with a '66 Stingray 427 in the garage (still there to this day) and from that car I fell in love with the Vette and consider it to be THE epitome of American Muscle. At age 14 I fantasized of having a Vette and Wrangler in my garage and it only took 34 years but now at 48 my fantasy has come true. The Mrs. traded her well built Wrangler JL in on a 2017 2LT Vette and she absolutely loves it. So I guess it's my Vette too by proxy/marriage... lol. Wow is it a blast to drive!! I'm sure as we learn about and drive the car I will have plenty of questions so I look forward to the help from this forum. I know in the Jeep world the new Wrangler JL forum has been of great value and if any of you have Jeep or off roading questions ask away.

Congrats! I grew up a Chevy guy and fell in love with the C3. Since it's pretty impractical to drive something that old daily I picked up my C7. At 34 years old I hit my peak. Than I let my wife drive it... She told me if we ever divorce she's taking it.

Yeah we were looking at early 70s C3 as well and I told her they look cool but I don't think you'll be happy with it as a DD from a creature comfort and ride point of view. My favorite is a '67 427 but I know full well I'd tire quickly of that puppy as a DD, but I'd drive the snot out of it multiple times a week

Is the '66 or '67 427 coype or convertible? No photos?
Both Jeeps and Corvettes are hot items these days.

Thanks! The C8 is growing on me but, to me, the vette is supposed to have that beautiful front end and humped rear. I'll see if I can get some pics.

Yes I agree have been lucky enough to have a Corvette in my driveway since I was 28 and currently now I am 55 years young! I look at this way the Corvette has always been a Front Engine Sports Car/ Muscle car and with the C8 GM made the Corvette a Mid Engine Exotic/Supercar. Many people are happy about the mid engine and thats great for the brand name but I am old school so I will keep my C7 Z06 Vert till they take away my license to drive!

That is a fine looking automobile, your 18 Stingray. You and your missus go out and enjoy it. Awesome sports car. And you might get a chance to try out that C8 someday. We would be interested in your C7 to C8 comparison report.

Your wife's C7 looks great - congrats to her (and you by proxy) on getting a Vette in the garage.
