Any problems with Vroom?
I just got an absolutely insane offer from Vroom.com. They want to give me $63,500 for my 2019 GS Vert with 50K miles. This is me looking a gift horse in the mouth. My son, who is much better versed on these things, says that Vroom will take your car for a few days before they cut a check. Seems to me like a huge opportunity to lower their offered price for whatever reason they want, since the car is already in their possession.
The limited research I did showed the majority of complaints were cars they sold being in worse condition than advertised. I didn't see any where the seller was ripped off.
Has anyone sold their car to vroom? At that price, I will sell it tomorrow and not look back. That offer is 15K higher than the next competitor.

Sounds great but be careful. Don't let the C7 go until the VROOM check is certified GOOD.

I would not sell to them based on a promise, I don't care who they are. No check, no car. There are plenty of others that will pay right away. Carvana, Carmax, dealers, private sale.

I'll keep researching. I haven't talked to anyone yet, don't know their specific practices. We'll see.

I also had a very good offer from Vroom, did not take it and sold to another dealer because of them picking my car up and paying for it a few days later. I know a lot of people on the Forum have sold them cars with no problem and am sure it is a reputable business but my car doesn't leave without being paid for. Too many things can happen,

I also got a great price from Vroom for my C7. If I decide to sell them my car, I will keep my title until their check clears my bank. If they don't want to do that, I'll sell to someone else.

I have a problem with letting the car go without the money in my hands. Trust only goes so far IMO.

I agree, my car will not leave my yard without being paid. I turned down Vroom offer and went with Buyavette.net in Atlanta. They wired the money into my bank account 2 days before they picked up the car.

Yes, CarMax offered my client $3700 more than the dealer offered on trade in on a new car. That allowed us leverage at the dealer. Pretty clean and simple and they allow you do it online and then meet face to face for a final inspection. Used cars are sky high and will remain so for some time.

I absolutely understand about not having the money and "they" have your car, but isn't it the same when you buy a car online, say from Kerbeck, or MacMulkin, or ?
You pay the dealer for the car, and not only do they still have your car, but they also have your money.
Then, and only then, do they release the car and/or arrange delivery.
Dealing with Vroom is not exactly like dealing with some guy on Craigslist or eBay.
Vroom had over One BILLION dollars revenue in 2019.
The company is offering about 21.25 million shares, for a market capitalization of around $2.48 billion.
Underwriters include Goldman Sachs, BofA Securities, and Allen & Co.
What I'm getting at is, Vroom is not a fly-by-night outfit.
Anyway, that's my opinion.

I'm not sticking up for Vroom, although it may seem so.
I would not let my car go unless I had money in hand, either.
However, to address the OP's question, ANY PROBLEMS WITH VROOM?
There are a lot of comments about feeling uneasy selling to Vroom without being paid, and I agree with them.
And the comment about BBB revolking its accredidation (true btw).
But who has an actual experience where Vroom shtupped the seller?
Not a buyer, but a seller - we're talking seller in this conversation.

Current Alerts For This Business
Pattern of Complaint: Beginning in January 2020, the BBB began receiving complaints and customer reviews which exhibited several different patterns.
Complaints received from consumers alleged the vehicles they purchased from photos was not the vehicle they received. When the vehicle was received it had either body damage, interior was dirty, discolored or damaged or all of the above. Some consumer's stated thier cars were delivered at night, so damages were not noticed at delivery, while other complaints state the cars were left in a parking lot or driveway at night with the keys left in them. Consumers also stated they were having customer service and communication issues when trying to reach out to the company to address their concerns. Other issues alleged in complaints/customer reviews were not receiving the necessary paperwork to get their car registered, delayed delivery in receiving their car and issues concerning their trade-in. Since January, the pattern of complaints has not trended down but has actually increased. In June 2020, new patterns of complaints were noticed which include warranty issues, deceptive Carfax issues and/or wrecked cars being sold.

I have to laugh at all the guyz who wouldn't give up their car without getting the money first.
I wonder why they think the company buying their car should pay first, without having the car in THEIR hands first,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Timing is everything .
They have best price they get the car .
There first offer was 56000 stumbled looking for a rare classic I wanted to buy .
and there second offer was 54300 ,
I took it Vroom was still higher than others 3300 more than I paid for the 2019 1LT Stingray
I found a rare classic and had to move to quickly secure the sale .
I made the money on other end .Timing is important to make a deal instead of the miner stuff.

Just sold my '04 C5 to "We Buy Any Car". They called and ask if I would sell. I responded that they could come and make an offer as long as there was no charge to me.
They scheduled a visit, and made an offer. I told them what Varoom and Carvana had offered. Guy ask me what I was asking for a straight sell. I told him and he ask if I would
sell the car that day for my asking price. Of course I said yes. He issued me a check for my asking price (180% of dealer trade in offer) and put the keys in a window lock box.
The car was still in my locked garage. I deposited the check and about 5 days later a roll back shows up. Roll back driver had the lock box combination and off it went.
It was about as painless a transaction that I ever experienced.
