Default c7 scraping the floor

Thanks guys for all the great tips. I have been trying to enter my driveway at a sharp angle and it def helps. Still touches the driveway a bit. Will look into the height issue thanks for the chart!
Got a little too excited when I got the car I suppose....I am also now using the forward camera when parking so I don't scrape a curb.
My deflector looks like its in one piece, don't see any seams on it to indicate its in 3 sections...
Will probably have to either remove it or replace it as mine is pretty trashed....
I'd post a photo of it but I'm too embarrassed! LOL

GM part number 23163400. It’s designed for the OEM stage2/3 splitters. The only aftermarket splitter you can use this GM part with that I’m aware of is the C7 Carbon splitter. ACS has an undertray option, but not the GM undertray.

GM describes the front spoiler as the "Lower Front Air Deflector". You can purchase a 3 piece kit which includes the right and left deflectors as well as the large middle deflector. Also included in the kit are all the fasteners used to mount all three pieces. The part number for the kit is GM # 23145886. I got mine from Gene Culley at Cultrag Performance late last month. I paid $77.05 for the kit plus shipping. Gene is a forum vendor.

The splitter almost hides them from view so why have them at all? My 2 air dams are sitting in my attic and in perfect condition!

Please explain the functionality of the air dams over 100 mph. I'd never exceed that albeit under the rare occasion 😁 so if I can get by with removing them altogether I'd like to do so. Thanks.

They divert air from under the car. It reduces drag, supposed to give better gas mileage. It is more effective at high speeds. By high speeds, I mean over 100 MPH. That's all I got for the purpose of the air dams. The Z51 doesn't even get the center one.

Mine has been removed for about 5 years and I go over 100mph safely every chance I get. Whatever the designed purpose of them I don’t really care as it’s not serious enough to keep those ugly things dangling but that’s just me. Oh, the car won’t not work as designed by removing them!

If he's got the old torn off one, all he needs to do is to drill new holes, and rivet gun it back in place. The air dam wears rather quickly to being halfway torn off, by the forward and backwards movement of the car. Real simple procedure.

Driving over 100 mph, won't adversely affect a C7, but it might affect your life.

Because the Z51 doesn't need one either.

I have the "middle piece" coming in but I don't think it comes with bolts/fasteners of any kind. What bolt type/size should I get?

Buy a rivet gun. They're dirt cheap at Harbor Freight, or, Home Depot.

The story is that the combination of visible and non-visible aero stuff on a Z51, with center air dam installed, can make the front of the car grip hard enough at high speed that the rear becomes proportionally lighter, which can create oversteer at high speeds. I don't know at what speeds and how much, but it was enough for GM to delete the center air dam on Z51 cars after they had taken the early advertising photos.
It's the oddball stuff that makes me try to keep the aerodynamics of the car as close to stock as possible, including the front-rear "rake" angle. Some of the add-on aero stuff looks neat but I don't like being a test pilot.

The factory bolts are 10 mils with U nuts clipped in. If you don't have anything there at all, go to ACE or Fastenal and pick up U nuts and bolts that match. I want to say there where 7 total (based on memory)

Rivet guns should be part of the Corvette standard package.

Got 2 rivet guns... This calls for bolts to attach the center piece. I would think that the bolts are the same used on the curved corner pieces.

Thanks... The U-nuts are already there so only need bolts. I will go to my friendly neighborhood ACE...

Just went into the basement and checked my heap o parts. You are correct, same bolts as the curved. The 10mils I was thinking of were the 4 silver bolts farther back to attach my undertray

So I tore the hell out of mine right before putting it away for the Winter. I'm thinking of just having the dealer remove whats left of it and calling it a day. So what I'm getting from you guys (mostly) is that no hole in the space-time continuum will be created by just removing it??
