Default Tire choice

Finishing up reading and at a decision point. Would be curious to hear others thoughts. I have a procharged 16 Z51 on E85 blend. I’m between the Firestone Indy Firehawk. 500s in 295/30/20 (stock Z51 wheels) or the continental extremes in 305/30/20.

I would do the fire hawks if they came in 305. So I’m trying to see if the compound should be the priority or the slightly larger tire. I live in SoCal so no worries about cold or rain. Primary use is spirited driving, leisure track, and highway runs.

Would you go with the slightly smaller fire hawks or slightly larger Continental Extremes? Why?

thanks

I have Toyo Proxies R888R. They stick!! Not good for rain though.

I'd suggest checking wheel widths for those sizes as I don't think you should run a 295/30-19 tire on a 19 x 8.5" wheel - especially since you're going to be engaging in "spirited driving".

The rear size is not ideal either, though it's much better than the front tire/configuaration you're considering.
