Default Back to the track after new engine install.

Taking my new engine to the track this Saturday! (Texas) My car was tested by the local GM dealer and deemed healthy enough. They did feel excess vibration in the drivetrain. When compared to another car those vibrations were not present in the other car. They can not find the cause of the excess vibration. The PICO test determined that the vibrations were within spec. Healthy enough, just like me. So off to the track we go, Ho, Ho.

You will be just fine.
I usually like to put 4000 miles on new engine and fresh oil before hammering it on track. Not necessary I know, That's just me.
I now have 4000 miles on my new engine but here in the Northeast, no options this time of year so I'll have to wait till the spring to get back on track.

Plenty of time for me to decide if I will run 15W50 on track or not. I know some of your situation, so I expect you will be changing to the 15W50.
Have fun! Look forward to hearing how it all went.

I am at 1430 miles now and will be well beyond 1500 when I get to Eagles Canyon Raceway. I am going to run Mobil 1 15W-50 while on the track. Looks like a high of 66, I better bring some shorts. I am eager to see the car make it back home again after the day is over. I keep telling myself I won't be driving this car as hard as I used to but we'll probably get over that. Have some great holidays!
