Gas gage issue chapter II
Recently I brought my 2019 GS a8 into the dealer for my gas gauge reading 0 with a full tank. Supposedly they changed a faulty filter and this fixed the problem. When I picked my car up they said I had a little less than half a tank.. I stopped to fill her up and she only took $3.00, strange but OK the gauge said full so I shrugged it off. Now the three days later and three days of cruising Brooklyn streets it still says full while the My Chevy app says 35%. Also when I dial my center gauge in on my dashboard to "range left" it only shows dashes and efficiency says 0!!!!!
I don't know what's happening to the gauge but I think my "second tank" is not filling and is not being read. I called the dealer and the service manager said "bring it in tomorrow morning and I WILL have it fixed right and I will also get you a loaner for your troubles" .Would have rather had it fixed correct the first time.
What are you guys thoughts?

FYI, Techron Fuel System cleaner which I think is relabled under an AC Delco part number (ACDelco 88865595 Fuel System Treatment - 20 oz)
is specifically designed for one of the problems you describe. In the sales literature on the Techron bottle, they state:
Could it be that your fuel gauge sensor is sticking due to a reportedly known problem in some C7 generation Corvettes? I periodically use a 20oz bottle of the Techron/AC Delco because I think it is the only fuel additive that GM recommends?

C5 and C6 Corvettes also have the same issue. The sulfur deposits interfere with fuel gauge contacts and cause the problem. I used Tecron in my 99, 13 GS and now the 19 GS and I have never had an issue.

I had the issue with my C6 and $1200 later it was fixed. Had to replace the passenger side fuel sensor. Not sure there are many reported similar issues with C7's but I use Techron COMPLETE Fuel System Cleaner twice per year.

I put a bottle of techfon in prior to bringing her to the dealer It did nothing
I was supposed to bring her in today and canceled due to this ridiculous blizzard they're predicting tonight tomorrow and Thursday morning. I live on the southern part of Brooklyn on the Atlantic coast line so we're probably gonna get hammered.

Bring it in i would not. Ask for your money back and report them to the Better Business Bureau Teach them a lesson go to a Corvette Shop. Buy your gas at a Shell or Mobil station were the gas is circulated. These dealers never get better just worse and so do some independent shops! Good Luck.

Gas comes with techron in it. If your gas doesn't have cleaners in it, change brands of gas. Either the crossover is messed up or the sender is toast. The car is a 2019! I could see a 3 or 4 or 30 year old car have a jammed up fuel level sensor due to bad gas but 1 year old car? Nope, can't see it.
Going to have to take tons of stuff apart to drop the tank and replace the sensor.

My question is, is it best to add Techron on a full tank of gas or on an almost empty tank and then fill it. Does it really make a difference.
Isn’t the gas in both tanks always being mixed?

Full tank. If you add it to an empty tank it does little to help the deposits left on the fuel sender from ethanol fuel.

I'm not sure how similar the C7's fuel tanks are compared to the C6 but the fuel lines run inside the metal crossover pipe and are made of plastic. If you break the tip off one of them, as my mechanic did back in 2018, the crossover tube needs to be removed and access to both tanks is necessary. Not an easy repair at all.

This problem isn't isolated to corvettes. My 2000 GMC Sierra had a flaky gauge as well, and I ended up having to change the pump/sender to fix it. A 30 gallon tank, even empty, is a bear to remove and replace by yourself without a lift! The problem with a flaky gauge, besides not knowing how much fuel you have, is that some of the emissions monitors only run when the tank registers about 1/2 full. Mine would read zero or full scale at start up and jump between the two at almost any fuel level. The monitor didn't run, and so getting it smogged was next to impossible.
