I hope the GS is worth the extra money bought one!!!
Hey guys, I pulled the trigger with a 2017 GS 2LT 7speed. Watkins Glen metallic grey. As long as it checks out when I drive it and inspect it tomorrow, its mine. Was a lot of money but hey you only live once.
anything I should look for during inspection? Where would I find the cracks at in the rims?
Should have pictures tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks
Wade

some items to check on used C7
- cracks in the tires (if still Pilot Sport Cups)
- tire tread remaining
- bent and/or cracked rims. Rims can be bent and not yet cracked. Easily observed when spun on tire mounting machine.
- small cracks in the windshield on outer periphery.
- check oil level using the proper dry sump procedure

take a sim card if it has PDR
maybe paint flaking at front bumper/headlight area
cracks in side skirts and front spoiler
hope all goes well!

Great color pick.I would like to see it on a lift.Especially if it has all season tires.Salt baths I wouldn't own.
See if it had the steering rack changed? That was a recall.
Hopefully it will work out for ya ENJOY LIFE!

To reply to your thread "subject line," no, for me it wouldn't be. Indeed, I'd pay extra to NOT have most of the stuff others want to pay extra for. But, that's me.
Now, you are doing one thing right and that's getting the M7. Good move on so many levels, as far as I'm concerned. Also, ask if the battery has been replaced and if so, when. It is in the age-range when many need it. Battery longevity is all over the ballpark, but C7s being nothing but a big, mobile computer it needs a good, constant "power source" to avoid crazy electronic gremlins that can otherwise drive you nuts.
Finally, if it still has the original OEM wheels, or has OEM warranty replacements for damaged ones, I strongly recommend you factor in the cost of a set of quality, fully-forged, after-market replacements into total vehicle cost. However, if any of the wheels on it (if OEM) are still usable someone will want them, so moving those out-the-door can help... a little... with replacement cost. That said, too... if you are going to wish to drive in the cold, you will need other than OEM tires, as well. All the best and if you get it DRIVE it and ENJOY!!!
(p.s. thinking of '17s and power steering death, good point mentioned above. I bought a new '17 from Kerbeck's and the p/s died as I was about to leave on a 1600 mile trip home. They gave me an identical '18 instead. That was before the problem and recall came to light)

Best of luck when you go to inspect the car. Hope everything checks out and you end up an owner tomorrow.

Better have the extended warranty GMEPP included in the deal.

Go ahead and spend a bit more and get a Z06 if youre going to spend the extra. As for checking it over, just look it over for major issues and make sure there have been no previous wrecks/flooding with the car. Lot of these posts are just nit pick items. As for the wheels, if they aren't cracked they will be at some point, might as well factor in 3-5k for new wheels at some point during ownership. Since its an M7 car you are already bypassing the major issue with the C7's
