Fob issue

Fob issue
I have a 2017 C7. If the car has been sitting for a day or more I can't open the door with the fob. I have to open the hatch with the fob then I can open the doors. If I close the doors they lock and then when I try to open the doors without the fob they don't open. I put the fob in my pocket and the doors open Also after I shut the doors and the alarm sets after a couple of minutes I hear a clicking sound. After a day again the doors will not open. Has anybody experienced this and know what the issue is.

Most likely the fob batteries need to be replaced. Second possibility is the car battery needs replacement.

Sounds like a key FOB battery replacement first. Mine's a 2017 that was built in August 2016. I replaced the fob batteries a year ago. Just to stay ahead of it going weak. FWIW, I bought my C7 new.
BTW, your C7 has the setting/feature to not lock your car as you walk away from it.

Replaced the battery in the fob. The other fob worked. Tried programing the fob. Now the car will not start. I shut the door with the good fob in the car. Now the doors will not open and I can't open the hatch even with the key. Appreciate any help

Reprogramming is not necessary just because you replaced the fob battery, if that's what you mean.
What happens when you try to open the hatch with the key? Key won't fit? Key won't turn? Key spins with no effect?
It takes a pretty good twist on the key to pop the hatch; just about when you start to wonder if the key will break then the hatch pops open and the alarm scares the crap out of you.

The key should always work on the hatch even with a dead battery unless it's the wrong key. I was having this issue recently and it continued even after replacing the batteries in the key fobs. I ended up replacing the fob batteries again and finally found a set that were good. That fixed my issue. Moral of the story is the new 2032 batteries aren't always good.

I did get the hatch opened. It was the first time opening with the key and I wasn't turning it far enough. Now I can't start the car with the start button. The car did start with the remote start button on the fob. I noticed that none of the gauges worked and when I pushed the start button I could not get out of park The car then shut off and I can not start it with start button in the car. Any ideas. Thanks

If you just press and hold the start button after remote starting, the car will shut off.

YOU DO NOT reprogram the FOBs after you replace the batteries! You reprogram the FOBs when you add a new FOB or Replace a lost one. ONLY.......
Get out of the programming mode with your car. Your FOB batteries are toast or bad (even if new) if you're still having issues.

Off-brand fob batteries can fail to work even when new as their size can be out of specification. If the batteries are not the correct size they do not properly power the fob. It took me a bit to figure out why my new off-brand batteries, which tested properly for voltage, failed to work.
I thus suggest sticking to Eveready, Duracell, etc.
I mention this just in case you are not using name brand batteries.
Have you tried starting the car with a fob in the transmitter pocket?

When experiencing goofy things in a 3 or 4 year old C7, always replace the FOB battery for a simple place to start.
Next is the car battery and cleaning the connecting terminals, if a battery disconnect/reconnect doesn't get it (essentially a "reboot"). Good luck.

Test the fob battery. Remove it and use a vote meter. I was starting to have a slow to open drivers door when the fob was in my pocket. Took out the battery and it tested at 0.7 v (new it is 3 v). No problem now.

Thanks for the info. The car started but the security light stays on and the dic says service theft deterrent system. Shut the car off and a while later it would not start. I get a message that says ready for remote 2. Also I can't get it out of park. Any ideas.

Hold the start button down for 12 seconds or so to get out of programming mode.
