C7 Bashing..

The one thing that I agree 1000% with you is the seats in the C7 are one of the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in in ANY car. To me personally the C6 was way more comfortable because it had the manually adjusted seat back lever. Gave you all the adjustment you needed. I squirm in my C7 all the time looking for that right feel every time I drive it.

It happens a lot and it's seems to be happening a lot more on the C8 Forum than in previous generational introductions. I mentioned that I didn't like the looks of the C8 engine bay and thought GM could have done better in terms of finish and all of a sudden, I'm a C8 hater, I'm stuck in the past, and I'm not embracing the future, I need to stick with my old C7, etc. What's crazy is I'm warming up to the C8, but I'm waiting on the Z06 and other performance versions.

I'm not a big fat slob like some on here so I was not sitting in a bucket, my seats (2013) were as firm (28K) as the day I bought it new. Yea I understand your desire to justify your C7 purchase but I am in the opposite camp, my loyalty is to the C6 so having owned both (2013 GS) and my current 2019 GS I think I can comment without being biased.

I had 2008 Z06 the seats are softer they don't hold you in like the C7 seats .
I have have only put 30 miles on this new C7 so this is my opinion
They talk about tough leather.
The C7 seats looks like they are Engineered to hold up under wear and support the driver ,
I like the seats they do feel like a stronger thicker leather .support,
On my 2008 Z06 the seats seemed to wrinkle and wear more so .got spongey after a while and showed wear.
I cant see GM going backwards on seat design .

If anyone thinks things are a little rough now, just wait until the all electric C9 is unveiled.

What is it with these C6 guys bashing the C7 non stop? My brother had an 05 base 6 spd, my dad had an 07 Z51 Auto. They were awesome cars! I loved driving them. I had an 05 GTO 6 spd, but the Vettes were more fun to drive. As you guys know, I sold the GTO a few months ago and got a 14 Z51 M7 with an ESC supercharger on it. My bro and dad basically crapped themselves when they saw me come down the street with it the 1st time. I told them I was getting a Hellcat.. A little misdirection :P They both drove it and loved it. My brother said, he couldn't believe the difference. His was really fun to drive, I think maybe even a little more fun than mine, but everything else is sick on my car. Like others, it really took me a while to warm up to the looks. I really hated it at 1st. I also hated the GTO at 1st, but in the end , it was my favorite car. I've had Iroc-z's, Trans am's Corvette's ect.. The GTO was my favorite, Until my C7.. No comparison! Now I love the looks of the C7.. I pretty much love everything about it, but the seats.. Probably the worst seats I've had in a sports car. My GTO and my Brothers C6 Vette's seats were so much more comfortable.. What the hell happened to these seat? My competition seats are by far the coolest looking, but not very comfy. Anyways, I don't get all the hate on the C7..
I wasn't sure what to think when the C7 first came out, but I never liked the C5 or C6. With the arrival of the C8, I now see the C7 as the nicest vette all around (though a bit partial to the looks of some of the '58-'69 models).

The C7 seats were my primary reason for not buying a C6. The C6 seats were lazily built, as were C1-C5. C7 GT seats feel purpose built, good strong leather and (2/3LT) the 14way adjustment and the bolsters are actually useable. Comp seats even better. People looking for ultra-lush comfy seats need to go to Cadillac or Buick.

Actually, ^^^^ recent 2018s+ Tahoe/Suburbans have great seating. Upgraded trim level Chev/GMC pickups too.👍
Don't know about the Cadillac line up. I have zero interest in buying any Cadillac. My full-sized sedan is a W211 Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI Turbodiesel. Excellent seats

Meh, naaa, I don't see C7 bashing, but I do see C7 GS/Z06 bashing C7 Stingray/Z51. That's the part that really sucks.

I only pay attention to legitmate comparisons of two models of the same car from those who actually owned both and are voicing their experience.
I learned to discount opinions from others including most from car magazines.

C6 guy here.
Corvette is a Corvette.... everyone wants to get tribal, even within the tribe, I guess. Whatever!
Drove a C7, really nice, I even like the seats. My "base 2005" is pretty simple, I like it, I like to wrench it and the C7 I considered trading mine in for was WAY too nice for me mod myself. Cool on the technology, and super fast, even stock. 50 degrees out that day and I got cold tires to break loose at 35 mph. Smiled the whole day after that.
Ignore the haters, they are always out there. I agree on your statement about design, if you start comparing it other designs /years / cars, you fail to appreciate it for what it is. TIGHT, ANGULAR, RAZOR Sharp. Good evolution, really a departure of the C6. (which wasn't that different from the C5, I sometimes look twice when I am behind either, only the flatter tail lights give it away)
Anyway, Cheers brother!

I pulled into the station to get gas in my show quality C4. There was a white C5 in the next row and I was going to say "Hi". I do not care what generation someone is driving, as long as it is a Vette.
I put the nozzle in the tank and turned around and saw the guy looking down his nose at me and my car and stopped. I thought, do I want to be "That guy" and tell him how much I liked my new Corvette National Museum Delivery C6? No, I .just got back into the C4 and enjoyed the ride home.
They are all nice cars. They all have their quirks and so do the people that drive them. It is a family! At least we all have good enough taste to buy a Corvette!

This is my experience as well. The only time I see any "internal Corvette" or "intergenerational Corvette" bashing is on the the Internet. People tend to be chauvinistic about what they drive, sometimes with specificity.
