POLL CLOSED: Black vs Chrome Poll
POLL CLOSED: Took black/dry-summer set off today, in favor of chrome/all-season set for cold weather. Will flip back in the spring. That's spurred a debate amongst a few of my friends - black vs chrome. Got me curious. What do you prefer?

Yeah, thanks. Don't disagree. Came that way, but still considering it. Though it's very unlilkely that this garage queen will see treated roads.

I guess it's about time for yet another chrome vs black discussion, haven't had one in a while.
Just my personal opinion, chrome wheels have always been "in" to some degree (kinda like Ray-bans) however popularity does come and go over the years, black wheels have gained popularity in recent years, however I don't believe they will have staying power.
The thing I don't like abut black wheels is that they seem to get lost in the black of the wheel wells whether vehicle is still or moving, chrome wheels Always POP.

full disclosure; i'm 44, politically conservative but listen to modern music. black rims all the way. this is a cool car, all of it should look cool. chrome is tired. its not the 60s anymore, plus the chrome factory corvette rims don't seem like it. LOOK inside the lug barrels, you'll see where the "plating" just.. ends? looks like the **** was just sprayed on. and hell, it probably was =D
granted, 'other' is a perfectly good option also.. grey rims, bronze, this, that, so long as its nothing too garish or bright. matte this and satin that are often really nice. anything but boring, blingy chrome.

Since you listed it as an option - Go other, go forged! Slap the OEM wheels back on when you trade/sell.

I like chrome better with your car color. My 2016 TR Vette had black, while my 2019 TR has chrome. Personally I like chrome. It's kind of a heritage thing for me--chrome wheels go back a long way with Vettes. Sure chrome is old-school, but then so are front engines, ragtops, and manual transmissions.
If I go forged I am thinking brushed or polished, but that's a different discussion.

For me it would be chrome - generally not a fan of black wheels.

I've had both chrome and black wheels on my Vettes. IMO black wheels look better with a contrst in paint like red, silver, white, and yellow and chrome wheels look better with black and blue paint. Certainly no wrong answer, a nice problem to have.
A pic a took accidentally but best close up that I have.

It all depends on the color of the car to me... but chrome for sure on any dark metallic red or blue. White cars need black rims... but that's just me. :-)
