Buying my first C7 - 2014 Stingray.
It has been a dream of mine to own a C7 since they first came out. I have been told to go with a 2015 and up because of electrical problems. However there is a 2014 that is in my snack bracket and so I have questions concerning repairs. The car is listed with the following faults:
Navigation display screen inoperable.
Vehicle control system display inoperable.
Rear camera inoperable.
Are these the common problems with the 2014 and are the easily repaired with the right parts? Thanking in advance for any help.

Some of the early C7s had screen failures. Its replaceable. There are some threads here on the procedure / cost.

2014 here. The screen went bad (fluttering) but I had purchased a warranty, it was about $800 about half the cost of the warranty. Yesterday the screen wouldn't light up. A front camera would be helpful. I'm looking to trade for a vert, I may check into a 1lt to see if it will eliminate some electrical gremlins. Good thing about the 2014 it has a 6 speed automatic. Later models have an 8 speed auto which has given trouble. Also watch for dash delimitation on 3lt.
Buy a gm or chev warranty, more than one vendor on the forum.

Just bought my 2014 Z51 7MT Stingray Convertible w/just under 30k miles a month ago.
Didn't do much if any research on the car before I bought it, which is typical of how I buy cars but I have never suffered because of it.
Bought it because I got it for a great price, it was apparently in "good" condition and those things that needed fixing didn't deter me. Had to buy/install new tires (Michelin Pilot Super Sport) and new OE brake rotors/pads which cost me about $3k. Also had to buy/program an extra key for around $450.
The center console and the rear bumper were "dinged" and the clear protector on the lower rear quarter panel was damaged. Already bought a new center console and clear protector and will have them installed when I get the rear bumper ding fixed, which will cost about $2.5k total (including the parts) to do. Have other things I need to spend $ on so will probalby wait til the spring to get this done.
Otherwise, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong mechanically, electronically or otherwise (so far) w/my 2014 Stingray.
Good luck in your search for yours!

I own a 2014 3LT convertible. Only one failure - the center screen froze which took out the radio and nav. The culprit was the HMI module, though they changed the center screen as well. The Z51 brakes can sometimes squeal - the dealer changed the rotors and pads under warranty. No dash delam problem, but my car is kept in a garage. Don't hesitate - they are reliable.

Depends on how much $ you can get it for, and, how the rest of the car is.
I'd definitely get a 2LT Front cameras C7, no matter what. There's literally thousands of used C7s for sale. Don't fall in love with a broken one, that's out-of-warranty.

So you are wanting to buy a car with;
Navigation display screen inoperable.
Vehicle control system display inoperable.
Rear camera inoperable.
Is the car insanely cheap because it could cost you a small fortune to repair especially if it turns out to be a bigger issue than those three unit failures. If it was me I would get a quote from a GM dealer on the cost to repair all three first then negotiate the price further with the seller.

I bought a 2014 auto about 5 months ago with 24k on the odo. Totally reliable car so far. I wouldn't hesitate taking it on a long road trip.

But yes, this one sounds like it could have some electronic headaches that can cost a small fortune to fix. There could be other issues that the broken screen and infotainment system are hiding.
That said, you sure it's not the fuse? As stupid as that sounds, it could the solution sometimes.
Lots of C7s out there. And heck, Camaro SS as well. I struggled a lot when picking between the two.

I could be something very simple (just a loose HMI connector on mine) or could be thousands of dollars in various computer modules to fix. The screen in the C7 controls many of the car's systems, so if its broken the driving experience would be extremely compromised.

I know it is a gamble. The car is actually at a dealer's auction and I am a car dealer. I have talked to the Chev dealer about diagnosis and I have priced the screen, if it turns out that is the problem.

Bought my 2014 in November 2018 with 2600 miles on it and now it has 4800 miles. Not a problem yet and hopefully it will stay that way for a long time.

I bought a 2014 3LT M7 in May with almost 20k miles. I now have 25k and that’s because I only drive on some weekends for now. I do have a slight dash problem, but other than that I love the car and hopefully everything else will be ok. I’d buy another 14 in a heartbeat if I had it to do over again.

Bought my 2014 in July with 8600 miles, registered it in August. Just turned 9600 miles yesterday. No problems with the car and no record of any problems with 2 prior owners, GM records. Love it so far.

I've owned a 2014 LT2 convertible for 15 months, and so far no problems at all. I bought mine from a Chevy dealer that came with a 1 year limited warranty. I felt paying more from a dealer with a year warranty was a better way to go. .

The 2014s, if 1lt and bought at MSRP before the price increase mid-year, 2014, are retaining their resale value incredibly well. Especially if kept to low or almost no miles....

No issues, but torque tube had to be replaced @60K due to drive shaft couplers failure. Pay attention to any vibration around 2000 RPM when accelerating and noise/clank coming between engine and transmission when idle or engine shutdown on auto. On manual, just use clutch to disconnect/connect drive shaft in neutral to catch any noise. Keep the door open. It is 2014 so warranty is gone, so if you can not DIY - it will cost > $2K to fix.

We also noticed some dash leather is pulling, but we assumed it is the issue with all LT3 Napa leather - it shrinks on hot days and sensitive to humidity. For this very reason I would not be ordering and avoid LT3 on any future Corvette.
