Anyone have experience with Progressive Insurance?
I have been searching through the threads and have not found much info on it but wanted to find out what experiences that Progressive insurance user may have had?
I am a long time State Farm customer and decided to check around and get some quotes and Progressive comes in significantly cheaper (I drive my GS too many miles for NCM).
I have to admit that State Farm as far as customer service and making claims has been pretty good for me, any experiences with using Progressive?

Only with motorcycles but they have been excellent, including paying a generous total loss of a Ducati 1098S Tricolore.

Corvette, Chevelle, and two pickups. One diesel and one gas. Its the cheapest way to go for me, but I drop the Corvette and the Chevelle for six months in the winter. Ahhh the blessings of living in Michigan...

We have Progressive insurance and would highly recommend them for both price and service. Someone backed into our Lincoln, the service we received was excellent. They towed the vehicle to a non-network repair shop, arranged a loaner car, kept us informed of progress of repairs.
I worked for USAA for 10 years and had their coverage for home and auto and they are excellent as well.

It's the cheapest I've ever had in terms of premium charge. I saved over 60% versus my previous policy carrier...

Have them and filed two claims - no problems, prompt and professional. First my truck was rear ended resulting in very minor bumper damage. They came to my office, took some pictures and immediately cut me a check. Told me I could do whatever I pleased with the money. Since its an old truck I left the dent and pocketed the cash. Next up I hit a rock with my boat and bent a prop shaft. They said get it fixed and send us the bill. I figured they would want estimates, but nope I was free to use whoever I felt comfortable with. I warned them my regular guy tends to be pricey but they didn't balk and paid up.

Best person to ask is a good body shop owner. They deal with insurance companies all of the time and some will force practices that lead to 'less than optimal' outcomes to save money.

No money made on premiums was donated by Progressive to political causes.
Progressive itself did not donate, rather the money came from its PACs, employees ,and those individuals' immediate family members. $103,115.00 was donated by individuals, with $900.00 from PACs (which also get their money from individual contributions). Note, donations were made to both sides of the aisle.
Both GEICO and USAA donated more money, and donated more to Democrats than Republicans.
Now what are you going to do for a carrier?

I don't, but a friend was not happy when there was a problem with the paint on a covered repair. It seems that Progressive washed their hands of it when it went into the repair shop, not when it came out to be picked-up by the owner.

I have been with State Farm over 40 years and no one can beat what I pay with the discounts I get. Remember too, when you change companies, they most likely will raise your rates the next year after the teaser rates you started with.

I switched from GEICO to Progressive about 15 years ago for much lower rates. The two claims I've had were handled without drama. Having vultures eat and destroy the rubber gasket of a sunroof is not an every day claim. They didn't question it, just wrote a check.

I have my house insurance with them also, so that might also help on the lower rates. That and ADT. So far im happy with their service. I think Gieco is another good company. Corvette Museum was too high for me...and I dont like any restrictions. I drive my cars when and where i like. Plus, my age helps me also. Keep your record clean and do your racing on a track and you wont have any problems with car insurance. Took me a lifetime to learn that. And whatever you do......dont get caught drunk driving....You might as well sell your corvette then......and start driving a Prius.

Had them once about 10 years ago, never again. Filed a claim and got the run around and around and around trying to get a check. Argued with the adjuster and his boss over him lying to me to my face.
