Thanks all, for the very good feedback.
We both loved the idea of a trip like that, but ultimately, our covid concerns won out.
Plus, my wife was worried about riots, which I wasn't even thinking about. But sounds like that is a valid concern, too.
So...
I am going to contact Reliable today and get it shipped.
They were $200 more than the cheapest, but seemed like the best option, considering Intercity doesn't travel that route.
Yes, bought it site unseen.
3 years old just under 10k miles.
Still under powertrain warranty in case it's got the A8 shudder.
If it's got a bent rim, I guess I'll find that out!
Cedar, if you had the time to swing by and take a peep, I'd appreciate it, but you don't need to do that.
It'll probably be there waiting on Reliable to show up.
Thanks, all!
I'll post pics to this thread when it shows up, and I'll let you know how it all went.

@JPJR congrats on joining the GSCE club, guessing you may have come across the sticky thread for it, but just in case, here ya go: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rs-thread.html
I'm tagging you in the registry for this car. Please share if you don't mind, the city/state where the car is located along with the mileage when purchased and the purchase price (as much as you're willing to share). I use this to track the cars and pricing over time for others to keep up....
Thanks and congrats!

I've been doing a lot of reading on that thread. Good information there!
I do have a post somewhere near the end.

Road trip would be fun...my concern would be flying...that covid thing is a killer so that would make me think twice.

Not really. The chances of you ever getting COVID are slim to none. Most cases of COVID deaths are associated in people over 65 with health risk factors. Additionally 51% of all COVID deaths in the USA have occurred in only in 4 Democrat controlled states in the North East USA. Add in the fact CDC health data has been reported to have been greatly manipulated and hospitals have taken advantage of fiscal incentives to manipulate data reported to Federal Government as health payouts are greater if hospitals care for COVID patients. End result is COVID is not even considered an epidemic any longer by medical people in the know. You have almost zero chance of ever being infected with the Corona virus even if your never wear a mask. Live your life and don't be influenced by suspect, politically motivated propaganda. Life is too short.

I travel an pick up a couple cars a year... renting a car one-way is by far the cheapest method and with Covid is the method I would use at the moment.
Pro Tip - check around at the various rental car companies as prices for one-way and destination vary tremendously, often by a hundred dollars or more.

I'd fly Southwest for $150.00, as you quoted. But not to St. Louis. Riot Central. Bad plan.
Renting a car one-way? Too much money; meals, motels, gas, too much time. What a beating. Bad plan.
Best plan: Call Mills Transport, Dubuque, IA. They're the BEST. and least expensive carrier. I've used them Ann Arbor, MI. to Dallas, TX. They beat all those overpriced carriers mentioned by hundreds of dollars. $0 deductible insurance, fully enclosed carriers.

I have done two road trips to get Corvettes. I thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The second time was during the pandemic but I had no choice. I was trading cars. I guess we could have shipped the cars both ways but I did not want to do that.
