Default Sound insulation & radiant barrier - installation by CrazyCowboy (Dan)

It is well documented that Dan (CrazyCowboy) is the best in the country at this install and his kits are quality and well designed. There are threads about his travels to local clubs and doing multiple installs in a day.

I made the decision to move forward with Dan after I researched his kit and installation process in detail. Lucky for me I'm only 1 hour from Dan's home in FL.

I wanted to document/share (through pictures) the process in case anyone is on the fence about the product or his install process.

Could not tell you how many times I said to Dan "that part would have taken me an hour to do alone". Dan knows where every clip is and which tool to use to pop it. Knows from experience where the pitfalls are and when something just doesn't feel right. Dan finished the car in 5 hours, probably would have been 4 hours if I didn't talk his ear off about every part of the process.

I admit I held my breath when he took the seats out, if you haven't done that before there is only about 2" of clearance to maneuver it out without gashing your wheel or trim. He took them out and put them back flawlessly.

There were instant results with the sound insulation on the ride home on I-95. Above 55mph it's a world of difference, whereas before I had trouble using Bluetooth on the highway, no problem now. Since the install my legs have been cool, even on trips over 1 hour. The radiant barrier works very well.

Overall, after witnessing the process and care that Dan takes, I would have paid 2x what he charged to do the install. I found Dan to be honest and fair and give him my highest recommendation. I also purchased a divider insert from him and the wife loves it for her bag!

I'm happy to answer any questions that other members might have.

Thank you Dan!

Looks Outstanding! Which type of kit did you opt for Base, Extreme, or Double Extreme? I would definitely make the drive for his quality install.

I went with the Double Extreme kit: http://www.exoticvette.com/page-101419.html

And the Cargo Partition: http://www.exoticvette.com/c7-cargo-partitions.html

Was the seam tape included with the kit? Exclusive of what came with the kit, were there any incidental items needed to perform this installation?

Sorry, I'm not sure if it was included in the install price or the kit price. I'm sure Dan will work with you if you need the seam tape added to the kit.

There is a set of tools needed and I'm sure they are listed in install directions. No other incidentals that I saw being used, but I'll let Dan answer that question.

Default Install double extreme

I will concur with quarters. I too had double extreme installed by Dan, he did a professional job, for me it has made a great difference in my ride. So if you are on the fence, you cannot go wrong with either installing the kit yourself, getting someone else to install, or having Dan do the install. Observing what I saw Dan accomplish, two installs in 9-10 hours, I would highly recommend Dan do the install. He knows exactly where every clip is and is very carefully when doing the job.

Hi Dan - Thought I'd ask this in public for the benefit of others with a similar question - as you know i just got my first corvette and will be bringing it to you next week for your sound and radiant installations - before joining this community the automobile conversations i saw re sound deadening where mostly people with high end stereos and they always had a big focus on placing material in the doors. I don't see the Corvette conversations talking about our doors - is it because there is something unique about our doors or maybe there is just so much noise coming from under the car that the doors are secondary or perhaps no room there? Do you encourage us to also speak with you about insulating the doors? Just curious! Thanks - and See you next week! K
