Default C3, C4, C5, C6 and now a new C7 owner!

Howdy All, I have previously owned C3, C4, C5, and C6 Corvettes, but I have always bought them used. Well, I just traded in my 2013 Grand Sport and bought my first new Corvette--a 2019 Stingray Z51! When I initially looked at getting a C7, I noticed that my head would hit the targa roof bar behind the seats, so I had no real headroom. But, after reading all the posts on how to properly adjust the seat to get it low enough, I eagerly gave the C7 another try to see if I would fit, to get a new 2019 before they were all gone for good. I am glad I did, and my family and I love it.

My Stingray is well optioned with Z51, 2LT, A8, Mag Ride, NPP Exhaust, PDR, HUD, Memory, Heated/Vented Seats, Curb View Cameras, Carbon Flash Package, and Carbon Flash Dual Racing Stripes. I am not a huge fan of the racing stripes, but my 14 year old son loves them, so they are growing on me and will stay. I have already told him that when he graduates college in eight years, I will give him the C7, and then I will buy a C8

For mods, I already had the windows tinted, and I would also like to add the Z06 Grille, and the "poverty" splitter in Carbon Flash. I will also probably add the splash guards in Carbon Flash for some protection, and some better quality floor mats and cargo mats to protect the interior. Eventually, I would like to replace the Z51 Spoiler with the optional wing spoiler, that used to be called the high wing spoiler, but is now the lowest wing spoiler GM makes, ha, ha. I know that one is going to be a pain however, as the Z51 spoiler has 9 holes, and the wing spoiler only has 7, so I don't know how big a pain it will be to fill those two holes. If anyone has done it already, other than just using plugs--which I won't do, please let me know. Otherwise, I plan on keeping it stock...at least until the warranty runs out.

With my work schedule and all the recent rain, I haven't had a chance to take any good pics yet, but here are a couple of pics in front of the house coming back from the tint shop. Thanks, as always to all those that contribute to make the Corvette Forum great!

Congrats! That’s a nice looking car. You have a lucky son to be getting that car in 8 years.

Thanks! My parents worked hard all their lives, but would have never been able to afford to give me a Corvette. So, it will make us both happy to pass the blessing along to my son!

Nice...congrats! I've taken a similar journey...skipped 2x gen's at a time...bought a C3 and C5, both at 6 years of age and enjoyed them for 15 years each. My 19 C7 was my first new Vette also. Absolutely love it...going every other Vette gen there was a huge difference in improvements on all fronts. My son will also inherit my C7 one day...but this will be my last Vette and I'm 63 now...so I hope that it will be MANY years from now In the meantime he's thoroughly enjoying his Mustang that he bought new 5 years ago. All the best!

Congrats. Nice looking C7 Stingray. I think the mods you have planned will finish it up nicely.

Thanks! Yes, it has been nice to see the progression of the cars through the generations, and they all have aspects I love or miss. I love the style and body lines of the C3 probably the best. On the C4 I miss the clamshell hood and the Atari dash. The C5 was the roomiest and most comfortable to drive, and I loved the trunk since it was a hardtop. The C6 had the best looking rearend and was a nice evolution on the C5, but the headlights never grew on me. The C7 is a great mix of them all, and the performance and style is fantastic. I know your son will appreciate passing the C7 along after many more years.

I'm with your son (maybe that makes me 14, mentally) the stripes are KILLER! Congrats!
