The warranty has Hertz branding but appears to be through JM&A https://www.hertzcarsales.com/hertz-...tion-plans.htm, so shouldn't be any different than your local dealer selling you a JM&A warranty then going out of business

I was told that buying a rental car is like marrying a prostitute. Who knows, 20 years from now they might be worth more because of it, like those 1966 Hertz Shelby GT350’s.

One thing all these cars have in common? They all have probably been beat to hell. No thanks. I got excited for a second until I actually visited the site and seen how many miles they had for the ones available. Avged about 25k. No thank you

Yeah, exactly what I'd want... a high-performance car with multiple drivers, none who gave a flip about the vehicle.

Dry sump oil system that requires several miles to warm the oil to a decent temperature. I am sure that all the drivers waited patiently until the oil did warm up before romping and stomping on the drivetrain. Sure.......

ALL oil should be brought up to temperature before "romping on it", but I understand your point. Bottom line, at $300/day and a per mile fee, I am sure not every squid got a chance behind the wheel. Besides, they have the balance of GM warranties..Forget the Hertz warranty, I would get a GMPP extension for the little details, and perhaps to extend the PT coverage beyond 60K, but it's fine, really.

They are selling 24 of the 25 Camaro with the Callaway SC750 Package, also. One of the 25 is in the Hertz lobby, along with at least one of each Hertz Mustang from over the years. Impressive lobby, indeed.

How much are they? Is it on hertzcarsales.com? I can't find it.

I see a ZL1 but price is ridiculous. https://www.hertzcarsales.com/certif...3bdfa0452e.htm

If it is the ZL1 with the Callaway SC757 package, $78k for a 2020 w/only 1,863 miles isn't that bad.....but not my cup of tea.

Also likely they were under fill during the oil change, most technicians at dealers have no idea of how to properly change the oil of a dry sump system.

Good point. Chances are these cars were not rented to thrill seekers as much as everyone thinks. Also given the power of a Z06 I bet most soiled themselves rather quickly then drove more conservatively after that initial rush. Once again compared to track driving street blasting one of these things is well with tolerances, basically a cake walk considering the performance envelope.

I bought a 2017 from my Caddy dealer. It was a Hertz rental, low mileage and well maintained. Had a few minor issues and all were covered under warranty. I would do it again.

A few years back I saw two rental cars ( mercedes) on the track at the new (now closed) Nashville Speedway. Two buddies were having a heck of a joy ride chasing each other all day. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when they turned them back in considering how badly 'cupped' the tires were.

People have no love for rental returns, but my 2016 Stingray was a rental return, at a good price. It has a clean Carfax. A check of the lifetime fuel economy indicates over 22 mpg at purchase, and still good tread on the OE tires. You can't rag out a yellow Corvette in public without attracting attention of the local police. What really is a crap shoot is buying a repo Corvette, or one involved in a wreck. I saw a wrecked one where the insurance company totaled it and the owner bought it back from the insurance company. The rear shock mount were poking through the floor of the rear compartment and the shop said the guy is spending what it would cost to buy a decent used one. My dad used to work at a bank and would buy repos and drive them a couple of years, and I told him if they couldn't make the payments, what makes you thing they were doing the required service. He said in the early seventies they had a contest to see which loan officer could make the most auto loans, and six months later they took back a bunch of wrecked GTO's Road Runners, Mach 1's, and all kinds of other muscle cars..

My rental return Corvette received a free extended warranty and mechanically has been trouble free. Uses no oil, and the A8 has not had the dreaded shutter. Previously I had purchased a Malibu Maxx that was a rental return, and in over 150,000K miles the only issue war some warped brake rotors and a rear wiper blade.

I'm thinking they went auction or a dealer bought them up in a batch sell out - and they will be showing up on assorted dealer lots soon.

Was just searching the Hertz site today for what they have and searched for Corvettes then found this thread, as of today looks like there are 6 still available around the country Hertz 2019 Z06
I'm only looking for an M7 so not interested in these, pretty cool though, the Black / Yellow Hertz colors, lots of mixed opinions on them being a rental though.

After guessing at a 2LZ option package and plugging the details into Edmunds.com, the prices seemed about "normal". Most people I read about had good experiences with ex-Hertz Corvettes (see post #19), but I couldn't see paying "normal" pricing for one of these. Knock off $10k and one might be interesting if I wanted a Z06.
