Mine was built in the first week of production. As you can see from my signature, she has lots of mods and after almost 8 years, she's still going strong.

I bought a new 2014 Z51 2LT M7 back in April 2014. No problems after 21K miles. There were a couple factory recalls but no other problems. I just sold it and bought a 2019 GS just to have a newer car.
A few things to note which may or may not be important to you:
What the 2014 does not have (standard or optional);
- PDR (nav was optional on 1/2LT, Std 3LT)
- parking cameras in front grille
- A8 (A6 or M7 were the choices)
- Apple Carplay and Android Auto
- power hatch closer
- updated coupe roof latching hardware (less rattles)
Optional for 2014, may be standard in later years or GS/Z06
- performance exhaust
- mag ride (required Z51 for 2014)
There's not really a bad choice here...
Enjoy!

Dan Brennan, I have a '14 3LT vert purchased new and driven home from the Museum. 46K Smiles! The infotainment screen was replaced under warranty and that's it. It's been a dream.
You mention the dealer wants $46,000. He needs to get real on the price. I ran into a wholesaler at a car show who pulled out his Manheim auction app on his phone and quoted mine at $30,000 wholesale. That was two years ago!

The NPP can be added via aftermarket parts. However I don't think the exhaust mode will change via the drive mode like stock, so you might need to press a separate button to manually activate it.
Search these forums for plenty of details on both topics.

I find it hard to believe that there were so many flawless 2014 C7's because ours was not perfect because of the bean cutters at GM buying low bid parts and poor quality control at the factory. The replacement parts were all remanufactured and then reinstalled and very few were new.

Had the same thoughts on new model but did Purchase a new 2014. Drove 15,000 miles with no issues. After some of the issues with later years I would not hesitate purchasing another 2014. Seeing it is a GM certified has some advantages. With all the electronics in newer cars it is advisable to buy extended warranty if You plan on keeping for a length of time. Buy & enjoy

The infotainment system can be upgraded for around $1k.

Bought my 2014 new in October of 2013. Car now has 104K miles on it and runs just fine. I drive this everyday (yes, even in the rain). Mine is the 2LT and has navigation. Everything works just fine. It did have the torque tube replaced under warranty at 5K miles in February 2014. I replaced the belt tensioner in February 2016 at 38K miles. Both the torque tube and tensioner were known items that affected some 2014 owners. I replaced the battery in December 2018 at 84K miles, it was still working, but why take the chance, as it was a 5 year old battery at this point. This car has the automatic transmission and just recently I did tune to disable AFM (at 98K miles) and I also upgraded to Z51 swaybars and shocks (at 102K miles), but otherwise it's all stock and has been reliable.

I plan to pick up a 14 3LT 7M next week. I wish it was a Z51, but seeing as I have absolutely no plans to race or take it to a track, I think I’ll be ok. I will miss car play, can the radio be directly replaced with a newer unit or is it better to go aftermarket? I really appreciate all the information I’ve been able to get from this forum and hope to be able to contribute soon.

Anyway, I did the upgrade to my 2014, non-Z51, 1LT car and have had no problems. Here's my post from back in November 2016, if you're interested:
