C7 Corvette aluminum door sill plates
Can anyone help with ideas on removing small scratches from feet dragging across door sills when entering or exiting the car. My drivers side sill has a fee scratches I'd like to try and remove, any ideas? Thanks in advance! I want to thank everyone for their comments and ideas. Think I'll give the Maguire's a try, will post results!

I don't know what your sills are like, but solid aluminum can be polished, with scratches removed. That said, I cannot imagine it would work and look well on any Vette sill plates I've seen for a variety of reasons. If you can feel the scratch(s) with your finger-nail it will show if buffed out (will have a noticeable low place where the scratch was). My suggestion is to get a pair of the various snap-on covers to hide the scratches, and replace them and/or the original plates when you feel the need down the road. All the best.

Depending on how bad the plates are scratched, just replace them.
When I bought my car, I had Xpel installed in the sill area and then bought a set of the clear plastic sill protectors to keep scratches off the paint/aluminum sill plates.

If you try to polish out the scratches you will definitely notice the shiny area where you removed them. I had the clear plastic slip over sill protectors on my '16. They do way more damage than good. They permanently scuffed the sill painted areas and aluminum plate. Have PPF put on the sill and aluminum plate an/or use extra care entering and exiting the car.

Sorry for the dumb question but what is PFF? or Xpel PPF?

Paint Protection Film. Its a thin, clear plastic film that is installed to protect surfaces from chips, scratches and other damage. Xpel is a popular brand.
Aluminum is a soft metal, so it scratches easily. You could wrap them in vinyl. I had to do this on my wife's Infiniti. The 3M 1080 stuff I used on her car looks and feels like metal. Could also do carbon fiber or just about any accent color.

Once you get them cleaned up, try to find the plastic covers that cover the sill. I can't remember where I bought mine but they are virtually invisible. I've had them on my '17 since I bought it new.
