Default Ticking from engine

I seem to have developed a ticking sound that goes away after a while, 9,000 mi 2019
dealer wants to keep it over nite to start in morning cold.
I don't want them to open the engine, never runs right after it gets disturbed.
any one have this Wonderfull problem with a brand new car?

Do you have a sound clip?

these direct injection engines do have a tick to them but with out a sound clip it would be hard to say if the tick your referring to is normal or not.

Brand new cars, corvette or others, fail parts all the time. And if they do find a problem and have to “open the engine”, it should not affect the running at all if work done properly.

All 60 of my GM cars make or have made ticking noise, that's standard equipment.

Yes, when started cold (even on a warm day) which lasts for about 2 minutes until the engine warms up.
Sound comes from the driver-side engine bank. A singular tap-tap-tap sound. After warm up, all is good.
Going to leave my car at the dealer overnight when I take it out of winter storage this spring.

My car ticks at random times when i'm driving at lower speeds (20-40mph) and i stay at a constant speed in 2nd or sometimes 3rd gear. In my experience, these big engines produce fairly intense knock -- If it sounds like a heavy tick (vs a clock sound) then it might be worth looking into -- If it sounds more like the tick from a clock then you're probably OK.

Just my 2c -- I think the LT1 just tends to be noisy.

This.

Get headers and that tick becomes almost obnoxious.

Bring your car home from the dealership.

These are loud motors so unless it's obvious try not to worry to much. Put a supercharger on it and it'll drown it out.

If it is a tick the dealer will take care of it.
