Thanks!
I'd recommend your getting a range devise, possibly the best C7 mod out there for under $200.

2017 Z51 A8.
For the first 20k miles, I had the original factory fluid.
For the next 5k miles, I had the second generation fluid.
For the last 5k miles (30k total), I've had the latest fluid flushed in free by the dealer.

Never had any shudder or other problems.

Mine has never been in automatic without the range device. For the last two years its mainly been in manual mode and shifting using the paddles. It’s never ever gone into V4 mode.

Will GM pay for the triple flush even if the car does not shudder?

Buy directly from the manufacturer. There are some clones out there that are not reliable.

They are supposed to. I had mine done about a month ago. You just have to tell them you have experienced the shudder. I have not with 4500 miles on a 2017 z-51.

Did for me but was still under BB warranty plus I know the service manager. Tranny is much smoother after flush.

I have 17,888 trouble free miles on my 2018, and I don't have a range device and spend more time in non paddle mode so it goes in and out of V4 mode on a regular basis. I know my 2018 probably doesn't have the most up to date fluid in it but I do believe it's one of the reformulations that is better than the fluid that came on earlier models. I think the key is that I go on a lot of long trips so it probably keeps moisture in the trans at bay since it gets heated up a lot. I think short trippers are more susceptible to moisture in the fluid and therefore are more likely to get the shudder issue.

My 2015 Z51 had the shudder. I'd be driving on flat, smooth interstate at 65-70 mph at constant speed, and the car would give a shudder that almost felt like going over rumble strips. Not as bad as true rumble strips, but similar.
I'd note my RPMs would also flutter.
My dealer did the transmission flush and I installed the range device.
Dealer said my car had it "mild" compared to other cars they had evaluated and did the transmission flush on.

I noticed the shudder on at least 2 occasions soon after purchasing my 2017 A8 Grand Sport convertible. It sounded and felt like I was driving over rumble strips.

I installed the Range device and have never felt the shudder again. I have 6500 miles on the car now. Based on my experience, I believe the Range device prevents the shudder from occurring.

My ownership experience of the C7 can simply be summed as follows:

I am a huge fan of Corvette, but not a fan of GM and how they handle vehicle issues.

My B2B warranty expired but I have the GM Platinum Extended Warranty. I wonder if that matters?

I put in a Range device within the first few weeks of owning the car, no issues now at 6K miles.

My dealer paid for the triple flush. I even told my service manager that I hadn't experienced the shudder and he winked at me and wrote it up. However, I do drive in Sport manual mode 98% of the time.

I have a 2015 z51 and the flush with new fluid that came out last January fixed it
