12/22/19-Corvettes down memory lane, delivery pics,Barn Finds~*Mike Furman@Criswell*
~The generation of new C7's is winding down and the rumors of all things mid-engine is full steam ahead. Everyone wants to know what is next?
The first 2020 for retail production hasn't even gone down the line yet folks want to know when the 2021's are starting? That is totally in GM's hands.
I knew Zora Duntov from the Summers of 1978-1990 and his quote still stands true today as it did all those weeks when he visited Malcolm Konner Chevrolet
and he said, "Rumors sell magazines, not cars." Stay patient as the 8th Generation Corvette is well worth the wait. I am down to my final 60 new 2019 Corvettes in stock.
Call my desk direct line 301-212-4420 or email mfurman@criswellauto.com for any of your Corvette needs. Check out my Corvette Furman facebook page for video's/pics
of my daily Corvette delivery posts. *Most important, travel safely this Holiday season!
~One realizes many great memories when looking back at all the cars you've owned. Looking back down the memory lane of photos that I was
able to save from Hurricane Sandy evokes visceral feelings going back decades.
My 2nd Corvette, 1961 with dual quads. Below pic is taking my son for a ride.
Appraising a 1958 Corvette, circa 1989.
Zora Duntov had signed the plenum of my 1988 Corvette. Back when his penmanship was good!
Driving the 2019 ZR1 at Spring Mountain Race track in Pahrump, Nevada.
Joining one of the dozen classes of my Corvette customers out at the Ron Fellows Track in Nevada.
Drove the Pace Car at the 2014 Sebring Race.
Flew to Boston to meet up with a customer that I had never met, he knew I was a baseball fan and he had my name put on the scoreboard during the middle of the game.
General Motors rep brought me a cake after my 4,000th Corvette delivery. Halfway to 5,000 now.
Testing the all new C6 prototypes Summer of 2004 at Virginia Int Raceway.
Testing early 2009 ZR1's at Spring Mountain Race Track in Pahrump, Nevada, Summer of 2008.
The very first truckload of 2006 Z06's arrive. Of course, I ordered Lemans Blue. Fall of 2005.

*One of the coolest stories happened early on a Sunday morning a few years back. I had driven on the General Jubal A Early Ferry to cross the Potomac River from Maryland into Virginia in my new 2016 Z06 and up comes behind me a 1930 Ford...all original! This gentleman was headed to Church and he always liked to take his old Ford. He had owned this car since 1959. We spoke for the whole ten-minute ride. He paid $95 in 1959 for that car!
Bravo TV had me on two episodes of a Reality TV Show...
"Newlyweds, the First Year" was the name of the Bravo TV show.
~Spotlight on a couple of deliveries this week.
~Steve C. or Marietta, Georgia had been seeking just the right Corvette when he came upon my ad for this Black with Spice Red 2019 Corvette Grand Sport coupe. Very rare and super low production numbers! 3LT pkg, Auto Transmission, and the machine face wheels make this Corvette stand out. 1,531 3LT GS coupes for 2019 were produced, 244 were black, 198 with the Auto transmission, only 6 with Spice Red interior and 1 with the Machine Face wheels!! The paperwork/ payment process is completed via FedEx and over the next week, Plycar trucking will enclose trailer down to Steve’s home.
~Rogers and Maria M. of Upper Marlboro, Maryland called me the other day to set up an appt. to visit me at Criswell today and walk the inventory. They both agreed on Shadow gray metallic and once they viewed the Kalahari interior their minds were made up. Rogers drove home in his 2nd Corvette as he once had a C6 that his Father had gifted him. Equipment list: Auto transmission, 2Lt pkg, navigation /PDR, machine faced wheels, and much more.
~Brian and Erin of Oxford, Massachusetts had their new 2019 Stingray picked up by Plycar trucking and should arrive this weekend at their New England home.
Just in time for Christmas.
~The Frank Class Corvette barn find and throwback section. Please post up your favorite pic this week.
Happy Holidays to all!

General Curtis LeMay.
Curtis Emerson LeMay was a general in the United States Air Force. LeMay is credited with designing and implementing an effective, but also controversial, systematic strategic bombing campaign in the Pacific theater of World War II. He served as Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965.

Mike, great retro pics as always...Here's an interesting tidbit...The pink C3 Corvette in one of your photos was owned by Donna Mae Mims who was the 1st woman to win the SCCA championship in 1963, this car is currently for sale on Craigs List in my home town of Pittsburgh! Also, You know that you have made it when you get your name posted on the scoreboard at Red Sox Stadium!!

Another series of Corvette is moving on.This was a very good series. In many way's.Just the interior alone probably tipped the scales a bit to really have and own.
Hoping the C8 brings you another success in your chapter of Life and new owners Corvette Bliss in the new year.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL

I have to go with the “Rogers and Maria” 2019 GS Shadow Gray and Kalahari since that is my color combo on my 2019 GS I love so much! So much so I hope to order a companion car to my Corvette this spring as a daily driver. A Camaro 2SS Shadow Gray with Kalahari. GM did a great job with the Shadow Gray. I get many compliments on it.

My third Corvette was a twin to this one a triple black 1969 Corvette convertible with side pipes. I owned that car back in 1979 wow that was 40 years ago where did the time go???

Great to see the C7s still selling, and to see the happy owners. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Mike. 2019 was a great year in many regards, and my opportunity to meet you and purchase my Z06 from you is one of the major highlights. Thanks for the Sunday tradition of great throwbacks pics, back stories, and your perspective. My favorite this week:

Nothing like the classic lines of an early C3.
This photo of a silver C3 does it for me this week. For some odd reason, I am really taking a liking to the early C3 coupes with the chrome bumpers (pre-1974?). The ones that have the original rally wheels and no side pipes seem to have the best lines to them.
Merry Christmas to Mike Furman and everyone else on this forum!! Also, congrats to the new C7 owners. Save the wave!!
