I thought the same when we moved to TN from NY...the weather is great here. That was until the 1st winter we spent in TN. Yes compared to NY the winter weather is great BUT the winter temps in TN always seem to be 32 +/- 5 degrees. Perfect temps for rain, ice or snow. The only good thing is that if bad weather is in the forecast it is gone the next day but schools shut down for a week and everyone runs to Kroger thinking they are going to be snowed in for a month.
Our place here is just outside Chattanooga; any further south and we would be in Georgia.
I am in S.C. and can be in Ga. in 30 minutes, that is where we go when we take the vette out. Best roads of anywhere I know their road maint. is great.
I’ll bet you don’t take the Vet out during Love Bug season in Florida. 😎 There is no perfect place. Did spend 40 years in California and it was pretty close if you can afford it. Now reside in upstate SC which has good weather, low cost of living, and good access to a variety get aways.....some of the best driving.
Well we debated whether to move from PA to Texas, Arizona, South Carolina or S.W. Florida. Florida won and yes it's hot in the summer with everyday sunny and high around 93 and lows around 83. And yes we have an occasional threat of a hurricane and in the summer we may have a half an hour downpour any afternoon. But, from November to May it's still warm, maybe in the low 80's, lower humidity and beautiful sunny weather. This is when the "snowbirds" come down and this is also why our taxes are lower than any other state I mentioned. Plus, only here can I drive my Corvette every day of the year and where I can have my license plate say" Endless Summer".
Yup stuck in SW Florida too. 85 today and I am going to cut the grass. Enjoy the change of seasons.
You pretty much described AZ; minus the freezing temps of course. PS: I am grew up in WI, (gresham), left when I went in the military in 80'. Most of my family still lives there.
I'm with you brother! I grew up and lived most of my life in Michigan (Detroit area) and when I got recruited to move to S FL, we jumped at it! We ride as well as drive the convertible Z, but the roads (and drivers) down here suck!! Too many old people not looking for motorcycles!!

Where I live in Florida love bug season lasts maybe 7-10 days and I still drive my Vette (but I'll admit maybe not as much during those days). Xpel and the ceramic coating make cleanup a breeze. I'll suffer for 10 days to live in the sunshine, the beaches and not to freeze and shovel snow.
My thoughts exactly. I've been looking around south of Knoxville, but I think I need to go a bit farther south. Look for the last "Bridge freezes before road" sign.
The signs here in Ga. say bridge MAY ice in winter................may my ***.....
