Default Driveway scraping issue solved for $127.00 bucks

Can’t believe it took me so long to find these ramps. I purchased my first Corvette about 2 months ago. I was really bummed the first time I slowly pulled into my driveway and heard the splitter scrape. I started looking everywhere for a solution and considered the Bridjit system or the curb ramp system. My wife hated both. Just received my race ramps RR-EX-14 ramps a few days ago and they are perfect. Only 127 INC shipping for the pair and my whole front splitter and lip stay about 2” off the ground the whole way in. Great solution and they only weigh about 10 lbs each. I can now put on my new front splitter. Thought this might help anyone with the same issue.

You aren’t afraid someone will steal them?

I think most people carry them back in the garage after each use. Picture is for demonstration purposes only I suspect.

mine lightly scrapes every time i enter or exit . i have just the basic "poverty" splitter and after 2 years and 12k miles it still only shows wear on the bottom mostly unnoticeable. i would be afraid someone would steal those ramps and just buy another splitter every couple of years and forget about it

That would be a hassle setting those ramps out every time you want to leave or enter your driveway, but I guess that there aren't a lot of options

Others considering this solution should keep the following in mind. The Race Ramps RR-EX-14 XTenders are intended to be used with a service ramp which has a 10.8 degree incline. It appears that the OP's drive apron is very close to this angle. If the angle of the drive deviates much from 10.8 degrees then the ramp will not set squarely on the ground and will either act as a bridge or a teeter totter. In either case the ramps would not survive. Race Ramps does make some hinged extension ramps for their full lift EX-RESTLER-16 ramps. The hinged ramps should work with a wider range of dive angles.

.....besides moving. Hahaha.

I guess a little hassle is still worth peace of mind.

My driveway apron angle looks very close to oldC5's pic. Back approximately 2/3 down the driveway, cut the front wheels all the way to the left or right and continue to back out slowly. No scrapping or barely detectable contact with the air dams.

Drilling holes in Race Ramps is not a good idea. Exposing the foam will compromise the integrity of the ramps. Cars driving perpendicular to the ramps secured to the pavement as they passed by the drive would tear the ramps up in no time.

Are you scraping the splitter or the air dams under the car? I 45°the drive up and down and don't scrape my splitter. Since I have yet to drive the car at a speed where the air dams would prove beneficial to the performance of my Corvette, I removed the 2 air dams from the car and silenced that scraping noise too. I removed the air dams on my 2007 and my 2014 and I haven't missed them for a second.

My driveway is easily as steep as the one in the picture. If I go straight down or straight up the driveway, my car's front end turns into a cement plow. Sorry, I'm not going to stop and take time to put ramps on my driveway to stop scraping when I can drive the car up/down the driveway and not scrape anything.

If it the splitter he is scraping on the pavement, the hassle is worth it. If it is really the air dam, they are cheap and easily replaceable.

on my driveway the splitter rubbed a little just on the bottom and the lower air dams were rubbing bad. I tried the 45 degree entry and it didn't work on my driveway. My car is not a daily driver so putting these down and up each time I drive it is not a big hassle. My wife just didn't like the look of the bridit or curb ramp.
