Default Brake caliper press tool

Does anyone think this is useful or are there cheaper solutions?

There are cheaper solutions but the ones I have used seem to break easily. ^ That one looks pretty good.

You can almost always improvise. Wheather it be using a c-clamp or a giant pair of channel locks or whatever, there isnt really a need for special tools just to push caliper pistons back into their bores.

There's many different types as I probably carried a 1/2 dozen or more versions when I owned my auto parts stores. As stated above, a "C" clamp works as good as anything.

Calipers on the car? - a wedge of wood (like a door stop)

Calipers off the car? - C Clamp or Bar Clamp

Looks like one of those instances where one might get what one pays for. However, they seem to show two different versions at the link above.

I use this https://www.girodisc.com/Caliper-pis...er_p_5970.html but I change pads several times a month. For me it's worth it but if I only changed them once every year or so I'd use a c clamp.

yeah just squeeze. I’ve never had an issue getting them compressed by hand on a fixed caliper.

I have always just used a big C clamp. Never had a car it wouldn't work on.

I went to the same school of old pads and fingers. Always worked for me.

I didn't need an special tools for mine. Just a little prying pressure did the trick. Replacing the pads was a very simple job without the need to remove the calipers.

I track my C7 and thus change pads often. So I tried various products and this tool is the best. They are hard to locate, I ordered my off some specialty site that I can't find right now. They sell a narrower version on Amazon but this wider one handles the 4 piston Brembos. No need to remove the calipers either. The tool is super heavy duty with a hex nut on the end so you can turn it with a socket or wrench.

If you track the car-a must have.
