Default @#$%& rims

third one cracked 19 GS with 12k miles- did both rears 6 months ago and now one front started leaking yesterday. It has three imaginary cracks that leak imaginary air (according to tadge) and the leakage is too quick to allow me to drive this car. So now I sit and wait for rim availability as my car is unusable. Im thinking of filling the tire with goop to try and seal them internally while i wait. Im sure that wont work on the rim as it designed to coat the internal aspect of tread .... but if i put in a few gallons

Don’t put sealer in there as it will make a mess and plug up your tps. Not sure what rims your are replacing them with but the oem are available way cheaper on a forum dealer I can’t remember. House of wheels? Also try aftermarket for a stronger rim, ideally forged.

Seems the way to go is to swap out the OEM rims for aftermarket forged rims. It is sad that this problem is happening at all. But if you want to stick with OEM, you can check with someone like DocZ or House of Wheels and see what they have .

Have been privy to the aftermarket discussion but this is a leased car with red stripe black gm wheels with wheel insurance. Wasnt going to invest 4k more and throw away rims and insurance cost

Well, in that case--leased and insurance--it looks like you are largely SOL. No one was getting replacement wheels from GM, even before the strike. Perhaps, you might buy on your own from one of the wheel vendors? Convince insurance to do so? Best of luck, in any event.

What a KICK IN THE NUTS! If you have'em?Or groin.Make sure you go on the list and do that quicky form from NHTSB.The only chance we have are in numbers.
Their has got to be a attorney here reading all this rim BS?
If we all got together with a attorney here do we have power to at least get half the price off replacement plus your fee's.
We must have a case if all of us stay together. Those friggen rumble strips could be the dagger. OK,Who's got ***** or not
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Check if your wheel and tire insurance covers upgrading to forged wheels - mine does.

I freaking hate Tom Brady (Jets fan)...

...but I’d follow that mutant in battle against Tadge all day over their incredibly crappy response to this clear problem. After 7 vettes and 2 Camaros I’m out. Will buy a set of real rims for my GS and keep it until the wheels fall off, but I’m over GM. I’m sitting on another cracked rim right now.

Maybe their strategy was to get the wheels to fall off early so they can sell more cars. Hmmm

I've read many complaints about GS wheels cracking. Its going to take filing a lawsuit, preferably a class action suite against GM and hiring a GOOD lawyer that knows his/her stuff. Doing nothing more than complaining on CF isn't going to go anywhere, accept in-house for others to read. Its time to put together an organized and concerted effort to go after GM.

100% Gonna need some type of financial compensation.GM'S Replacements don't replace.Forged rims need a Home Equity Loan.

ill keep updating - day 3 no wheel - i put pressure up to 34 last night with the glimmer of hope that it would only drop to 24- it was 12 this am. Im thinking maybe i can plug the crack with some aluminum patch- maybe worth the try if its going to be 2 months as it was for my last rim

Will the dealer provide a rental car? What did GM say the ETA for the wheel is?

Default C6 wheels

If the C7 wheels are impossible to get, has anyone considered C6 GS rims ?

I have 4 For a 19 GS that were replaced sitting in my garage if someone wants to purchase.
As soon as I got them replaced through the wheel and tire protection I bought Forgeline.

I purchased my wheels from House of Wheels. GM OEM. Also there is a class action law suite about GS and Z06 wheels cracking and bending. I talked to a person from this law firm and send them a lot of paper work from my car purchase and receipts on the purchase of my new wheels.
