What are your current recommendations for the correct disk to use for the C7 PDR camera?

I just use a regular SD card, and have had no issues.
I have and do use it like a dash cam (with no overlays).

You just have to manually start it to use it like a dash cam.

I have a 256GB card, works great.

I believe the PDR times out around 45 minutes. I ended up getting the 2 channel BlackVue 900S camera setup with park mode. Installed myself and works great.

It is a file size limitation. Once it hits the file size it stops. So it can vary a little. Typically around 90 min or so.

Anything over 32GB you will need to format first or you won’t be able to watch it anywhere other than in your car.

Nice. I wonder if the size of card has something to do with it then. Thanks for the info.

FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit, which equates to about 1 hour and 36 minutes of recording time on the PDR. I keep hearing of people whose cars routinely exceed both limits on here. I would love to see a post showing either time of the recording or file size of the PDR recordings that are surpassing the limits. I need to know how to hack my system to do the same. I have tried using SD cards formatted other than straight FAT32 and no other formats, including exFAT, work. I currently use a 64GB card which I formatted using 3rd party software so that the entire card is recognized by the PDR as available. I would love to see how folks are getting past the 4GB file size limit.

Correct. File size limitation. Anyone who can show a file size larger than that is working some magic. The time of the recording can vary but shouldn't be by a lot. File size is fixed.

This is the one I use. But any 256 GB card of this size / shape should be OK from a performance perspective...

I use a 32gb card each segment is about 1hr 39 minutes but the PDR keeps going just starts another 1hr 39 min segment. I do not have to restart it, it just keeps going I get about 735 minutes total on the card. If it gets full I just delete the files while in the car kind of time consuming because each segment has to be deleted individually

Are you sure it keeps going? On my '19 it stops at 99 minutes and you won't know it if you
don't look at the PDR screen. It does this regardless of the size card I use. I like to use it
as a dash cam even though you have remember to start it and stop it.
It would be great if GM would offer a software upgrade to give it dash cam ability like
the C8 has. This would basically be just like valet mode except you could still use the
infotainment system. I imagine a few lines of code is all it would take to modify it.
I have a Garmin dash cam\GPS system in another vehicle and it is completely
hands free, starts and stops with the key on and off and records over the oldest data
so you never have to worry about a full memory card.

I have had several 1hr 39 min segments and have not restarted it. I dont go on many trips without stops before the time limit. but the few times I have it keeps going. But once the card is full I have to delete segments to keep going . It will not record over the oldest segment

Never heard anyone here say it starts recording a new segment after it hits the end of the file....not saying its not true, but never seen that reported here. Even with the person before, they have a '19, doesn't happen to theirs and on my '17 it doesn't happen either. Gets to the end of the file, stops. You have to start it again to get it to record. You're a lucky guy...

For example if I drive for 4 hours straight the PDR will record the whole time without restarting but it is divided up into 2 1 hr 39 minute (99 minutes) segments and a 52 minute segment. Maybe I didnt explain myself clearly before
