Dealer badges on Vettes, seriously?
Came across this, a dealer called Criswell stuck a badge on the back of a C7 that the guy bought. Is that standard? I'd be none too happy about that bonehead move.

Yep, Goodwood green. Wish a similar green was offered besides the 2014 model year.

While I totally get the dealer advertising thing, I'm quite certain there's NO Corvette purchasers out there who appreciate this. Dealer's, if you have to deface the Corvette with your tag, at least use a licensee plate frame that can easily be removed after purchase.

BAT: wow. At least yours looks like a simple decal. That other one I posted in the video was a big honkin' plastic thing, straight out of the 1950's/60's/70's.

When I have bought a Corvette, I have always asked the dealer to not place their dealership decal on the car. Never had one refuse my request. The dealers around here just use vinyl decals, so removal is easy.

Every car I purchase, as a part of the purchase agreement, they must remove the dealer decal. They damage, they fix but never had an issue. When I ordered my last Vette, my three conditions were, don't wash it no matter how dirty it is, don't put your dealership advertisement on it, and park it in a covered area until I could pick it up. Dealer was happy to abide by all requests.

I’ve always asked dealers to remove any ads or stickers on new cars, vette or not. They’ve always complied. I don’t mind the dealer frame, it gets tossed right away.
I dont like being used for free advertising, and yes I remove that “sent from iPhone” message too.

No stickers here on the paint but the buying experience was so nice at MacMulkin, I thought I would run their plate frame.

While seeming totally out of place now, many years from now it will be a novelty to find a C7 with the original selling dealership sticker - just like early corvettes that still have original paint with the fading original sticker or badge on them, it's one of the first things people notice at car shows. We hear lots of chatter on here talking about the future collect-ability of the C7, well it's the little things that help accomplish that, like putting up with something that seems out of place now, but desired later on.

Ummm, uhhhh, to each their own.
Are cheesy plastic dealer badges found on collectable Porsches and adding additional value/desirability?
For whatever reason, it became a common thing on American cars many decades ago. Seemingly more so in the south or east coast. But, placed far away from any additional logos so that it stands on its own. That Criswell badge smack dab in the middle of the C7 bumper looks hideous today and will look hideous 30 years from now.

Back in the 50's and 60's, many new car dealers would drill two holes to fix them to a New car... Them = a cast metal dealer logo with two pin bosses, that went into two holes drilled via template. It was a common practice but not all dealers did it. I, like many refused a car because of it.

I called the dealer in the USA who originally sold mine & serviced it for the 1st owner for 15yrs & they wouldn't give me any service history saying it was confidential information!!!

I bought a new '68 Camaro that had the dealer's cast metal nameplate with the two DRILLED holes in the back of the car... That lasted about a month till I removed the badge, filled the holes and painted the back panel black...
IMO the license plate frame is OK for those who WANT to advertise the dealer, but sticking anything on the OWNER'S car without permission is unacceptable.
If they want to place advertising on a vehicle, then offer CASH to the owner for the advertising space.

Let's see a pic of that car, it looks awesome. What's the name for that shade of green? Is that "Goodwood?"
