What got you started on Corvettes?
I would say it was the tv show Route 66 back in the early 1960's. Watching Buzz Murdock and Tod Styles every week and all of their adventures made me a Corvette fan. I have the complete DVD set of all of their episodes. The tv theme song, by Nelson Riddle, is still the ultimate Corvette driving music in my opinion.

Best performance for the money.
Once this changes, I will move on to a different car.

Seeing my uncle pull up to my house in his 66 427 Milano Maroon Stingray coup and taking me for a ride when I was around 9 years old.
From that point I knew I had to have one. I started saving all my money from my paper routes, starting charging my freinds for rebuilding their mini-bikes, go-cart and parents lawnmower engines. Shot ground hogs for soybean farmers, went to work for A&P grocery stores and by the time I was 17 I had saved almost $7500 to buy a brand new 1975 Stingray in silver w/red leather interior. I was the happest kid on earth.
I've had at least one Corvette ever since.

GM is in my blood - literally. Going back to to the Durant days.
Coming up on 40 y/o, had the cash, and said f-it.
Ordered my first 2019 Z06/Z07 in late 2017 when the ordering books opened.
Then did a full FBO build putting down over 700rwhp.
It will compliment my forthcoming C8 Z06/ZR1 varient.

1984 C4.. 11yo kid. Father bought a 1985 monte carlo as (bench seat there were 5 of us). First new car he ever bought.
We chased an 84 C4 down and I was hooked on speed and corvettes even though that pos couldn't pull away from the anemic monte carlo lol. No-fire I mean cross fire injection was short lived thank god.
Then a magazine on a drug store rack 2 years later read at the top "ZERO TO 100 IN SIXTEEN FLAT!" The 86 C4 (dumb 3rd brake light and all) was cooler than a Countach to me at that point.

I was in engineering school in 1984 when GM brought their then new C4 Corvette to campus to show it off to us young engineers. I was blown away at how awesome it was compared to other cars at that time. Never had much interest in Corvettes before that. But GM was smart. Myself and many others were hooked on Corvettes from that day. It has been my dream car for 35 years. As of three weeks ago, I now own a 2018 C7 Stingray and I have to keep pinching myself to see if I am dreaming!!!

When i was around 14 or so my Mom and Dad went and bought new Trans Am's after Dad gave his old car to my sister. One day, a year or two later, i went with Dad to the dealer to have an oil change on his car. While we were waiting we decided to walk around the showroom and see what they had new. While doing so we noticed several new TA's on the showroom floor, however what really caught Dad's eye was a slightly used C4 on the showroom floor. The salesman approached and kept trying to get us to drive it, Dad was hesitant but naturally i was losing my mind and made a ruckus until Dad finally was tempted enough to test drive. They let us take the car out and i can remember it accelerating way past the limits of the blinking speedometer. It was a looker back in the day for sure...first time i had ever rode in a corvette.....hopefully it's a long love affair.

A close friend back in the '70s. I was never much of a "car guy" in HS...joined the USAF, had a VW Beetle (love them too!).
Then a good friend and I got reassigned together, and he was big in to 'Vettes. He bought a '75 on an Airman's salary (not easy to do, even back then). We used to ride to work together--he gave me the bug. We lost contact over the years as our paths diverged (I stayed USAF, he left, went FAA), but we connected back on 9/11 of all days--long story.
We're still in touch, LOL...he's gone through a couple other Vettes as have I, he currently has a '66 Roadster/4spd, and we just bought a '96 GS. Before I made the decision, I reached out to him. Old friends, old habits, LOL....

The TV show Route 66. Each week Tod and Buzz cruised thru their adventures in a C1. Each year the Vette was updated. That show got me hooked.

Safety Car
Even as a very young boy I was always into cars, with my first Corvette exposure being the '68 Hot Wheels version. My first experience making me want one, was when my uncle threw me the keys to his '78 in '80. The next better experience was him throwing me the keys to his '87, which for the day was quite a car. Finally at age 41, I got my first!
