2,500-mile trip.....
Just completed a 2500-mile trip from Central NY to Carlisle, PA for the huge Corvettes at Carlisle show, then met up with the Northeast Caravan to the NCM for the 25th Anniversary Celebration. Great trip out, via Roanoke, VA and Bristol, TN for a few laps at Bristol Speedway. We had a great time in Bowling Green, met many new friends and saw thousands upon thousands of great Corvettes, including the new C8 (loved it). We headed home early Saturday morning and drove straight through back home to CNY - about 13 hours. Mostly at 75 mph, averaged 30.1 mpg for the entire trip with occasional readings of 33+, and that includes several track sessions - one at Bristol, and several at the Motorsports Park adjacent to the NCM.. I let the AFM work as designed (except on the track), and it was seamless. My wife and I were both impressed with just how capable and comfortable the C7 is. For those of you who don't drive your cars much - get out there. You don't know what you're missing.

I recently completed a 23 night, 5997 mile trip from Michigan to Washington State and back. I traveled through the northern states to get there and took a middle route for the return trip. I hit several National Parks. I camped 6 nights, stayed at three different friends' houses one night each, and at my friend's house in Washington for 12 nights, though three of those nights were in his camper while salmon fishing on his boat. I also slept in the car a few hours one night to get in line for a camping spot at Glacier National Park (that was rough) and only had to stay in a hotel one night (one more than I would prefer).
Copper Harbor, Michigan. As far north as you can go in the Upper Peninsula
Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in North Dakota. General Custer's Fort.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Glacier National Park
Salmon!
Picabo, Idaho
Craters of the Moon National Park
Vernal, Utah
My friend's house in Littleton, Colorado

Man - you did some driving. I was able to attend the NCM event as well - just for a single day - Thursday. (I live about 110 miles away). It was "cool" to see some many corvettes in the parking lot and look in any direction and see more corvettes.
I was impressed how well the event at the NCM was ran. The shuttle service to the parking lots was amazing. With my mother in her late 80's I was pleased and impressed with the attention provided for those which have some difficulty getting around.
Being new to corvette world I found everyone I talked with very friendly and polite - just a great group of folks to hang out with.
Well, glad we both had safe and trouble free trips.

I'm in the middle of a 9,000 mile trip from California to Nova Scotia and back. Lots of beautiful areas but crappy roads. Riding in a friend's Grand Sport while mine sits safely at home.

I always love a road trip (as my miles attest).

Are you able to track convertibles? I was going to try and take mine to Sonoma raceway in California I’m about 2 hours away but i read somewhere that you need a roll bar.

Just yesterday completed a 1000 mile trip to Las Vegas. Over the 1000 miles we averaged about 32 mpg, and some of that time we were at 95 mph. My wife mentioned that I was in handcuff territory, (not a good thing in this case!)so I backed it down a bit. When we arrived in Las Vegas the temp guage (which has proven in the past to be pretty accurate) was reading 118. The vette ran just fine!
