Default Do you think the process to start launch control should be more simple?

I love the launch control on my 2018 z06 auto. The only problem (which is user error) is the correct sequence for things to do to activate it. A lot of the times I hold down the front brakes thinking its activated only to start spinning the rear wheels. Do you wish the launch control system didnt require so many different things to do to get there? I really hope its a lot more simpler in the c8.

you do not want to make it too simple where someone would activate it by accident. We have people now that forget to turn their car off when they get home and blame it on the push button start.

So no.

Yes to me it should be a simple one or two step process.

dave 2012 tt nailed it. Make the process too easy and you'd have people launching their cars into everything but the open road.

Look at the targa top. The easier GM makes it to remove/replace, the larger the "Flying Roof Club" grows.

well, let's see.... turn to track mode, press button twice.

Is that it?

I used to think it was a little much to activate, but in reality it's a turn and two clicks. I have not been to a drag strip but I do wonder if I have time to do this when staging etc. I guess get it ready in the lane before you stage?

I think they want it to take some thought and time so everyone and their brother isn't launching from each stoplight they encounter.

Same thought. I think that’s why you can’t do it in sport or touring. Or you’d be doing it ALL the time! 😜
I once was dismissed from jury selection because I said, “if there’s no tire smoke, and they didn’t go over the speed limit, there was no exhibition of acceleration”.

I guess I can't comment since I haven't used it on my 2017 GS M7 and I've had it 3 years. Oh the shame......guess I need to read the manual and go do it!

ABSOLUTELY agree! IMO launch control is the worst C7 feature. I tried to use it on multiple occasions at the drag strip but there are FAR TOO MANY STEPS to utilized it.

It is beyond me (btw I spent years at Intel leading SW teams) why it’s not simply a one button press to engage launch control! Fact is it would have been easy to do 😡

Would it kill GM to have a light that says "Launch mode engaged"?!? Then you'd know if you did it right or not.

As we get more "functions," wanted or not, expect using them to grow more difficult, not less. Just think how it's consistently changed to get where we are. More functions, more layers of commands.

Part of why I always wanted an 0LT option.

I’d be more than happy with just that. Can’t imagine it would cost them a fortune to add that.

If a tech guy like you is having an issue with it no wonder an average joe like me goes bonkers trying to make it work.
