What is FAVORITE Coupe or Convertible?!

Drifting
I have owned 4 Corvettes. A 69, 99, 13 GS and now a 19 GS. All of them have been convertibles. I sunburn pretty easy but I found this miracle stuff called sun block. It really works so I drive a lot with the top down until it gets too hot then the top goes up and the A/C goes on. In the colder weather with the top down, the heat is on and the wife has a blanket. I try to achieve maximum top down time.

I miss the storage capacity of my old C5 coupe, but that's all. The vert is more fun in everyday driving - even in the rain as it's quieter. Even in the Georgia heat we put the top down most days. I do think the lines of the coupe look slightly better compared to the vert with the top up, but with the top down the vert is a stunner!

"If I can’t travel and take the things I need then I have no use for it. Verts don’t hold much for traveling and they look ugly unless the top is down."
Personally I feel the same regarding the coupe with the top stowed. It looks like an afterthought and drives you bonkers from all the disruption of airflow in the cockpit. I have owned both C7's and the convertible is the winner top up or down.

The coupe is the prize winning design, mesmerizing. The vert is the dog's breakfast, a design afterthought; Corvette being required to use the 300 lb aircraft carrier "flight deck plane elevator" from the Camaro, since Camaro logistics way over-ordered on those, misjudging just how unpopular the Camaro ended up. Perhaps they are refitting the excess Camaro plane elevators into the new C8 vert, since the 'ro is circling the drain too.
Full disclosure, owned a c7 z51 vert, and now own a Z06/Z07 vert. They be ugly, but they be all Corvette offered for 6 grand more than the coupe. For that money, the top shoulda been a folding magnesium unit. And that rear haunch to hide the flight deck elevator is almost as thick as a muffin top mid-engined car.

Doesn't make much sense to me. "The vert is the dog's breakfast, a design afterthought" is particularly nonsensical, since the C7 was designed to be a convertible from the start.

Convertibles are OK but out of 90 cars and trucks I have owned in the last 50 years I have had only one (a 1968 TR-250 that I bought new). The top has never been off my C7 coupe and most likely never will be. I don't even roll the windows down. At this point in my life, I prefer nice, clean, fresh, conditioned air.

Some say Ugly with top up........... C7 vert looks pretty damn good to me, top up or down. Actually, I don't believe they make an ugly C7, coup or vert.

Melting Slicks
I've been spending some time on the C3 forum and decided to see what was happening over here. When I saw the subject line I thought to myself: 'this will most likely end up like the 'stick or auto' and other 'vert or couple' threads::: with several forum members chiming in with "whatever I purchased is right, and whatever others have isn't". But I couldn't help myself and came in anyway.
I wasn't disappointed. I think a lot of it is just in fun, but some of the polarizing statements that seem to really be meant to put down others choices confuse me when we consider that we're all gearheads and should be encouraging each other to enjoy our beautiful vettes.
That said, I must be a very confused boy. 4 vettes; 2 verts, 2 coupes, 2 autos, 2 sticks. And I enjoy(ed) them all! And, for whose who might be struggling with this, I consider them all 'sports cars' - even the autos.
I think both versions of the C7 are drop dead gorgeous. I like the verts top up or down, and think that they did a terrific job of not only creating a beautiful car but also some really good luggage room. Both of our C7s have been coupes because, while 10 cf is really good, especially for a vert, we do 3 week road trips and the extra 5 cf in the coupe is really needed for 3 weeks worth of stuff including my fly fishing stuff. And for those who don't know, you can stuff a coupe and still see out of the back window no problem. Kind of like magic, but it's due to the significant angle of the hatch.
For those who choose verts, coupes, sticks, autos: I hope you get tons of enjoyment from your wonderful vette(s)!!

I think that we coupe owners have the best of both worlds. I think the coupe is sportier looking and if I want the open air feeling I just take the targa off. To each his own, if we all liked the same things it would be a boring world.

This is the biggest debate that I have had of date in my three years of marage. She is in the convertable only group. I prefer the Coupe. Our first and only corvette right now is a convertable c6 but she promises that I can eventually get the 1996 c4 Coupe I've been wanting since I was 8.
