What do you absolutely HATE about your C7?

Burning Brakes
I have a vert and the view through the inside rear view mirror is completely unsatisfactory.

Not sure why you feel you should call out the OP in such a manner for his opinions on what he dislikes about the car. Dick move in my opinion.
However with that said from my point of view, the road noise.... I know the designers were very conservative on material to keep the car light and agile but damn its annoying loud. What I find funny is that they will put heated and cooled seats vs something directed at safety such as collision warnings/adaptive controls.

C7 2007 z06 (ls7)
I just had to invest about $5K recently to replace the needle bearings on all my rocker arms (GM problem #1)[found 27 needle bearings in my oil pan collector] and had the heads redone with all new guides and exhaust valves [several owners weren't so fortunate and dropped an exhaust valve = $23k for a new motor (GM problem #2) because GM wouldn't stand by their product. There have been numerous LS7 such problems (needle bearing failure and dropped exhaust valves) and it should be on GM but they would never admit it so NO recall , so there is a lawsuit against them now!!! I bought the car brand new off show room in April 2008. It (a 2007 Z06) sat on showroom floor for 14 months because no one was buying those cars after the Big Financial collapse back then. Other than that , I bought the "blockit" sound deadeners that work well for a quieter ride. Great value for the $ and an awesome stock street muscle car that handles great , especially in the mountains! I'm thinking about a California legal supercharger next from A & A in Los Angeles.
I highly recommend West Coast Corvettes for the repair and they use West Coast Cylinder Head repair to do the heads. Both are one of the best in their field of expertise! Located in Anaheim Ca
Thanks , narrleeZ06
PS I also own a 1966 stingray convertible with hardtop. I restored it about 25 years ago and it still looks and runs great! Has a small block running about 400hp (after rebuild) with side exhaust so sounds awesome !!!

Hate? no, I don't "hate" anything about the C7. I'm disappointed in the Nav system that tells you almost nothing about your trip. I'm disappointed that Blind Spot Monitoring is not included in the car. Otherwise, I absolutely love the C7. But I'm kind of old school. I had two C3s before buying a C5, then the C7. The first C3 was raw, no power steering or brakes, just a 350HP going to the rear wheels through an M4 and I loved it. So to me, the C7 is a luxury car.

Melting Slicks
Dislike the road noise and the hill hold thingy. A couple of times I have stalled the engine taking off from a start on a slight incline. Old school says you can fire the engine with clutch in immediately without being run over by cars behind you. New school requires you to hold in the clutch and brake. Yikes.

2nd gear 80 mph instead of 72
3rd gear same
4th gear 135 instead of 150
5th gear 165 instead of 210+ mph theorical
6 th gear 190 instead of 250 mph theorical or so
7th gear same for economy (300mph + theorical
If you think Z51 and Stingray are geared correctly you don't know **** about cars or mechanics (I'm a mechanical engineer BTW)
Everyone knows that on a performance cars you want higher gears to be as close as possible to stay in the powerband and have max power to the wheels (not only at the engine). Look at how Porsche gear their cars. First 3 gears are pretty long, then space gets shorter and shorter to favorise high speed acceleration. With current gearing C7 Stingray/GS are completely dead after 150mph. (and basically even sooner (110mph) because of the gap between 3rd and 4th )
Actual gearing makes absolutely no sense performance wise. This is an economy vehicule gearing. Even Jim Mero in his explanation of the nurburgring laps says 5th is **** on Stingray /GS with way too much gap.
For example Camaro SS 1LE (that I have as a DD) has a good gearing 1-4th, then 5th and 6th are too long, and the ZL1 1LE has a perfect gearing, with 4-5-6th very close, like Porsche.
We are talking about a performance car, not a family sedan or an economy car. Sorry to say GM f*** the gearing on the C7.

No
1. Power folding mirrors. Always afraid of them getting knocked off by people they are so low.
2. Blind spot monitoring
3. Wider bottom of front fenders so you dont get blasted by debris that wrecks the brake duct bezels
4. Alert that the targa is ON BUT NOT SECURED. Never happened to me but feel terrible reading about the flying roof members lol
5. No front lift.
6. AFM... pay the gas guzzler tax yet STILL have to deal with that AFM? Holy getting it stuck in 2x lol
7. No exposed carbon fiber bezel for gear shift and cupholder area? My C6 had that at least in gloss!
8. No turn signal in HUD.
No remote window operation like my kids GMC terrain...wth...
But I love the car.. just love it. That's why I ordered a 19 ha.

Now I wish it had....rain sensing wipers. Sounds strange but when you are use to having them you miss them. I wish the plastic in the cargo area (the half circles in the back) was lined with carpet or a less scratch prone material. Another 20 dollars would have gone a long way.
The c7 is so much better than the c6 - I never liked my c6 but I sometimes sleep in my c7.

Mine's directed at Chevrolet, not the new C7.
Car should have been equipped with M7 CAGS, vehicle alongside warnings in the side mirrors, turn signal indicators in the HUD, on your side mirrors, front and backsides. Auto fold in side mirrors.
MSRC upgrade to 2017 should have been NC.
Love the car, glad I skipped the previous 3 models.

I don't hate anything about my C7. The only annoyance is that the C6 had an emergency fuel door opener in the trunk./hatch area, which was eliminated in the C7. Owners who don't wish to be caught unable to open their fuel door have had to come up with creative solutions such as scrivets to prevent the fuel door from latching.

Hate? Not a thing. Who needs cup holders? Not me? Blind spot mirrors? No need. Adaptive speed control? Pay attention when driving.

Hmmm. Hate? No. Nothing I can say I hate about my Z. However, I can say painful. As in, how painful it is to my internal organs to be moved around through my body as a response to the savage amount of torque being applied to the rear wheels through the movement of my right foot.

I agree. I do however like cup holders for my coffee and water bottles. The ones in my Corvette are fine. My wife and I have no problems with them and they work like they should. Maybe some guys are trying to put their big gulps or 2 liter coke bottles in there.
Now the cup holders in my last two Audi’s were pretty useless but nobody ever complained about them.

I HATE those incompetent A holes who use my parked Z-51 for target practice. Twice now my car has been rear ended in a parking lot while unoccupied. First time old lady hit it while pedestrians were attempting to stop her. Recently at a Honda dealer assisting my daughter with her purchase of a new car an illegal alien with no drivers license but WITH insurance WTF? Cops would not do squat cause it happened on private property. His company could not explain how some illegal *** gets insurance without a license. Build that wall and eliminate these vermin from our nation YESTERDAY!.

After a year with my C7 I'd say they is a lot more to like about the car than dislike. The only thing I dislike are the cupholders. And I don't use them for giant drinks, only normal 14 oz travel mug. If there's only one cup in the cupholder I can't
really do any spirited driving without the cup tumbling over. I've learned to live with it, but the cupholders are lousy. And I do hit the trunk button when exiting the car on occasion. But these are very small annoyances on a car I can't wait to drive again and again.
Don't want this car to have the driving assist items either. Do they make auto pilot for stick shifts? Wish the car were geared slightly lower too. Not a ton lower, just a little lower.
