C7 comfort or lack of on long trips (FIX)

Just got back from a trip from central coast CA to Reno to attend a funeral. I agree that the seat could be better for long trips, but I am 5'8" and 240lb, so knew going in that I was wider than the body type the seat was made for. I too find that there is just one position that doesn't have hard parts of the seat frame digging into me. I still love the car and since I haven't found any replacement seats that fit me, I am dieting to fit in the car (30lbs so far). My C5 was a better long distance car and had more room for luggage, but my GS is sooo much better on twisty roads and at the autocross.

I find the drivers seat to be comfortable on long trips (we have driven for 8 hours). I am tall and I do find the passenger seat to be a bit cramped but not really uncomfortable. I think the seat is softer than the C6.

I bought my used C7 in NJ and drove it to FL = 1,200 miles in 2 long days. The interior is a bit tight and reachable storage is limited. So I moved my cargo net to the front, this way my wife could twist in her seat to reach drinks, snacks, magazines, etc. I am tall and thin so my only issue is that my knees hit the steering column. The C7 is more comfortable and quieter then my previous car... so everything is relative. I think the seats are great, not as good as a Volvo or my Prelude, so maybe the 3rd best of all the cars I've owned. The lumbar and shoulder area doesn't seem to align well with my body type, but cushion density is spot on - not too firm, not too soft.

I have no Problem with the seats, But I am a long time Corvette Driver and maybe I have different expectations. I am trying to do something about cabin noise though.

Any tips for getting a better position are welcome. I follow these guidelines: http://racetrackdriving.com/driving-...ting-position/ as I track my car.

nice sure if this would help and this solution is for the very few, but I pull over every hour or so and stretch and walk around...now I have an audi TT for now...my corvette I pickup Friday but I plan on doing the same...I am in Louisville Ky and the corvette is in Arkon OH so about 7 hours via back roads and about 8 the way I stop.

Noise is a pretty easy fix with Hush Mat or similar under the rear carpet and behind the seats on the waterfall.
I actually find my C7 a great highway cruiser, much more comfortable than I expected. It is made to go fast and so smooths out and is very happy on the expressway at 70-80 mph. (Speed limits on Michigan interstates are 70 or 75, and odds of being picked up at 5 mph over very small.)

Very well could be... but when my hands and feet are in the right position my knees brush the column slightly. For reference I'm 6 foot even with a 32" inseam. I find the steering column bulky and low compared to other cars I've own / driven. When I raise the wheel I feel blocks my view too much

I just shotgunned in a '66 427 Shelby Cobra replicar to the Palm Beach cars and coffee. The Cobra had a real Ford 427 block, not a bored-out mee too. The seats sit at a slant, and the narrow passenger footwell lets one foot rest, the other has to go on top of it. The heat from below, the heat from above! We sat on towels on the thin strips of vinyl covering metal bucket seats to catch the sweat. The car shook and spasmed like a geriatric with parkinsons, just from the motor idling. The smell of gasoline and exhaust fumes wafting up from the side pipes. It don't get no better than this.
My c7 feels like a sleep number bed in an ice box in a sensory deprivation tank compared to that ride. And yet, my first sports car with A/C did not happen until 7 years after i started driving. When did my man of steel who used to drive those horses of iron disappear?

The longest trip I've taken in a C7 is 8000 miles. Solo.
I think it is even more comfortable than the C6 (which is pretty darn comfy). I like how the seats (and belts) hold you more securely than the C6.
I'm actually in the middle of a ~ 5000 mile trip as we speak.
