Is this a good price on a C7?
I've been casually looking for a C7 and came across a '16 3LT Z51 7speed with 22k miles. White with black interior and black wheels. It will need new front tires, but the rear tires are newer. It appears to have pretty much every option except for competition seats. A local dealer offer him $41.5k on a trade, and he'd sell it to me for $42.2k privately. Does that seem like a decent price for this car? Anything else to look out for when purchasing used a few years old?
The service history is pretty clean except for an airbag recall, instrument cluster reprogramming w/SPS recall, driver door speaker replaced under warranty, driver instrument display replacement under warranty and a door panel repair. The powertrain warranty is still good for another year.

Do you think it is a good deal? That is the only thing that matters. Compare it to other car prices and decide for yourself.

Definitely a good deal. $1K more than I recently paid for a loaded Laguna Blue '15 2LT M7 Z51 with 20K miles, extended warranty and comp seats. I heard from many sources that I got a very good deal. I think a year newer and 3LT is worth a more on the used market than $1K!

Thanks for the replies on this one! The owner just informed me that he had a 5mph "fender bender" and the front bumper and driver's fender were replaced last October. Not sure if a cafax would pull up any accident history or not ... but I might pass on this car because of that. Even though it would probably still be a good deal.

Sounds high to me. Check GMVIS and Carfax to see if the car's been wrecked. Run it by a Chev. dealer service dept. computer scan to see if any warranty busting mods have been done.

Its a good deal IF its clean. Im only comparing to my 1lt offer that i got which is 37k cash and its a year older than yours. Privately i can get 40k.
I personally believe there is something hidden.

Have you actually inspected the car? Corvette values have much to do with condition. If immaculate inside and out $42K could be a very good price, however if interior is in poor condition (seats and especially check dash for shrinking/cracking), paint, body seams etc have defects it could only be worth $32K.

It is not a bad deal if the car is mint, all the issues are taken care of and the car checks out OK. But factor in that you will be needed new front tires into your offer if you pursue the car.

Maybe this does or doesn't help for assessment - I JUST sold a 2014 Z51, 2LT, 7-speed, Torch Red, Adrenaline Red interior in absolutely pristine condition for $44K. I paid $61K in December 2013 (I had a fairly early Z51 car, they were difficult to obtain early on). Again - this car was perfect in every way. I thought $44k was a fair deal for me. Local Chevy dealer bought it and is asking $47,970 for it (which I think is crazy high but maybe not).

When I was looking for my C7, I made the search a project where I targeted larger cities' Chevrolet dealer websites that I could get to in a day, either by renting a car or buying an airline ticket. Found the car I wanted (M7 Stingray 2LT WGG) 200 miles away and saved 15% off sticker.

You can get a brand new C7 1LT at Kerbeck for 47/48. just FYI.
