Might have to say goodbye
Had major back surgery in Jan. Lumbar Laminectomy and fusion from L2-L5. (I'm 65) Doc says it shouldn't be too much of an issue getting in and out of my GS, but just looking at those seats is putting a little doubt in my mind. Already starting looking at alternatives just in case, but nothing out there (American) does it for me except maybe a Mustang GT350.
Hopefully I'll be good to go and won't have to give up my GS.

Never say never brother. Ive had two back surgeries, and after a long enough recovery time I was back in the Vette. So, don't make a move too soon. Listen to the Doc, do your exercises as prescribed, and you may just surprise yourself. Good luck, I'm pulling for you.
Also, since you have a convertible you can have someone put the top down so you can enter/exit easier at first. Then it will make easier to do the same with the top up. You can do it, I know this.

I have had two back surgeries...L4-L5. Last surgery was 15 years ago. Just take your time on the physical therapy and DO NOT rush it. You will be amazed how well you recover. You might have to do 5 minutes of stretches in the morning but no biggie. Don't give up on the Vette yet! I do remember my doctor telling me one of the reasons for my fast recovery was my weight...or lack of. If you are over weight, you are not doing yourself any favors. If weight is not a problem, do as they say for a complete recovery. Hopefully all will work out.

255 but 6'3". Doc said He thought I was in pretty good shape. Been driving and out of brace since week 3. Allowed me to bend as much as comfortable, but still no twisting. Started therapy at week 4. Have to go to Home Depot or Mall to get my walking in cause the weather has been crappy lately.

Check out a Macan Turbo. My friend had back surgery and can only get into cars that do not require lowering himself into them.

If your down the Jersey shore, I'll be more than happy to come down there and drive you around in your C7 all day long...for a nominal fee...
All kidding aside, I wish you a quick recovery and hope you're back in your Vette sooner than later!!

I have serious back issues and just bought a Vette. You should be able to manage it, just do a lot of stretching and follow the rebhab exercises. Mine gets set off from sudden movements and bending forward, getting in and out of the vette is OK as long as its not the 1st thing I do in the morning
