Dog in Vette

My dogs are simply too wild to drive with them. I'd probably sail off the road after they tried to jump up to the windshield.

I enjoy my “Chevy” Vette, but I enjoy my other vehicles as well. Some of which are better “tools” than others in performing certain tasks, i.e., it makes a lot more sense the haul my 150lb Rottweiler in a crate that fits inside my SUVs or “Chevy” truck, than a two seater, not to mention that it’s a lot safer. It’s ridiculous to think otherwise. I wouldn’t try to sink a nail with a screwdriver when I had a hammer nearby.

Maybe I should clarify....I wouldn't do this if i was driving a Ford Focus. It has nothing to do with the car, but everything to do with how nice I like to keep my cars. Just the other day someone told me they thought my 2006 mustang looked almost new on the inside. At 145,000 miles I say I have enjoyed her very well and kept her clean along the way.

LMAO. I don’t get Vette owners who generalize and stereotype.

My "Binky" owns this Vette. I used to have a C6 Vert but I had to sell it and I got the C7 Coupe because it was too dangerous for him to ride up-front. He had the nasty habit that he would jump in my lap while driving. Then he would lay under the flat bottom steering wheel which was really bad.
So I went to the local Auto Zone and they had a cargo net that was just a few dollars that keeps in the back now. I hooked the net to the seat belt holders on the side of both seats. He tries to jump over the net so it was necessary to tie the top of the net in the middle to the roof latch so it keeps it high enough that he stays in the back.
Sorry, I don't have a picture of the setup handy.

What you really want is an SUV or similar with the "hammock" with straps that fit over front and back headrests to make the back seat a secure nest for your buddy.
Duluth Trading and Orvis sell versions of these.
I had considered trying my medium sized Golden Retriever in the back of my coupe but suspect that between limited space, heat from sun, and heat from exhaust under the floor she would not be too comfy.

I do have a dog hammock for the back of my daily driver so she can go for rides. She is instantly ready to go when she hears the magic words.

No pets in my Vette. I have other cars that can be used for transporting a pet.

+1 on the hell no. Don't need the dog scratching the hell out of everything. I have a pickup truck and wife has a Subaru Outback to throw both of the idiots in the back.
