Burning Brakes
They changed the firing order in the Corvette a long time ago, was it in the C-4 era ? Why they did it I don't remember. But the Corvette has never sounded as good ever since !

as far as some of these arguments of leaving GT's behind... duh? whats the price tags of GT mustangs vs base model C7s... I almost bought a 700hp mustang from the dealer, brand new, NOT preowned with a 3 year warrenty for HALF the price of a new vette… GM is alienating themselves from what makes and breaks the auto world, the mass public with their pricing. Sure their latest and greatest vetts are into supercar status at half the price... but GM is so bloated they are going to go belly up in the next few years because they priced themselves out of a job. Meanwhile IF, let me repeat IF... IIIIIFFFF they continue to play smart and cater to the desires of the mass public will continue to do just what they are doing... outselling GM nearly 2:1 as of latest reports.
mildly back on topic... i'll take my older engine's over LS any day of the week, based soley on sound, a Ford 351W/C flat stomps a LS in the dirt. But before you start screaming about a ford lover, I had a 6.2 sitting in the back of the shop that I had planned to put in my C3, and I didn't because I didn't want to lose the sound of a open header SBC... hands down slower than the 6.2, not by a lot... but i'll take the sound over the performance in a driver. Not a race car, a driver that i'm going to cruise in and that makes me smile.

Mustang sound will always win
Mustangs own the sound in muscle cars.. no doubt.. but loud and slow is not my thing although I am a car guy and love em all.
This is a full build but to sum it up, I have a VR cam, ARH, borla atak

Get some Kooks!
All you need is some Kooks headers and x pipe combined with the stock NPP! It really wakes the car up and the neighbors too! lol More fun than any Mudstain!

Safety Car
I do admit
The Mustang/Coyote has always had a great noise and to achieve that I believe will cost quite a bit. In essence trying to get one singer to sound like another.....good luck

This is a really old thread? but is an interesting topic.
I have a 2017 GS and a 2020 Mustang GT and the GT is a much better sound from inside the car as I drive it. I have been wondering how to get similar sound from the GS? both have their versions of NPP?
I am not a fan of comparing a Mustang and Corvette both are nice in their own ways. It is ok to like either or both! but putting one down vs the other seems petty. If you like a vette buy a vette, if you like a mustang buy a mustang! just have fun.

I had a 93 mustang cobra with a flow master exhaust. It was the best sounding car I have owned. WOT my zr1 is close. Would I trade my zr1 for any mustang? Absolutely not but that cobra sounded awesome. I put a corsa x pipe on my vette and it sounds better than stock. I have been considering a corsa or akrapovic axle back but I think the stock mufflers sound good. May get bored this winter and make a muffler swap.

Simple... just buy the Mustang, if it's that important.
