Interesting ALMS GT2 Thread-Boris-Fire
Here is a picture of the car after my co-driver Boris Said got hit by a BMW and pushed the side exhaust toward the fuel line and the car caught fire.
Also attached is the video of rebuild of the car that we took to the Petit Lemans and out qualified the GM Factory GT2 cars We got the outside pole and GM Corvette racing got 3rd and 7th.
We did shakedown laps at the Glen prior to going to Atlanta for the race.
‘This is what we do at LG Motorsports.
Yes, we are addicted to racing Corvettes
Thanks

? What do you mean are you missing something?
I just posted up something that was pretty interesting not to mention that there has not been a Corvette racing in the American Lemans again because GM won’t let them
The thread was just post to highlight what we did to take a car down to the bare frame put it back together and then go out and out qualify the GM factory cars. that seems pretty interesting to me. .

That was an interesting year for me. I was instructing at the July Trackmasters event at Watkins Glen and Joey Logano was their with Boris as his instructor. Got a chance to sit with them at lunch and Boris told us what it was like being in that car with all of the flames and how hot it was.
A month later I was back for the next Trackmasters event and Lou had his GT2 car in the garage next to mine. I had just purchased a 2008 Z06 and had a set of their World Challenge Wheels on the car. I talked to Lou about the alignment that had been done before I came to the track and some issues I was having in Turn 3. He crawled under my car and readjusted the rear toe which improved the T3 handling issue immensely. I also learned how to set rear toe and thrust angle at the track.
Later, Lou was giving Customer rides in his ZR1 and as I pulled out of the pits into Turn 2 he was coming out of Turn 1. He caught me by the time we got to Turn 4 and when I gave him the passing signal he pulled left and went by me like I was standing still. He went through the bus stop at an impressive speed and disappeared around the Carousel turn before I got to the bus stop braking zone. I didn't lift when he passed me and I hit over 150 before braking for the bus stop. I have no idea how fast he was going but it was a hell of a lot faster than me.

Bill what a great time!!
the racing life has been too much fun. I love going fast and conquering a race track. There is only one line around a race track— so go as fast as you can - as often as you can - WITHOUT EVER LEAVING THE RACING LINE!!
Also buy Alan Johnson’s “Driving in Competition” book - I think it helped me a ton way back in my early years.
Thanks.
