Gosh, I don't think I'd use a clay bar on the plastic... but that's me. BTW, I use the P21S wax as well, on painted surfaces. Seems to do pretty good.

I went ahead and bought the XPEL cleaner and treatment, since it makes sense that petroleum products could cause injury to the product, and since auto care products are generally not designed for consumption, there is no listing of ingredients. So you really have no idea what you're putting on the car.

They all have material product data sheets (MPDS), although they can be hard to find. If you email Xpel, they'll often look it up for you and tell you yay or nay regarding use on top of Xpel.

That's just it, it's not plastic. The top layer of any self-healing PPF is clear coat paint.

Yup

I've clay barred my Xpel Ultimate several times with no ill effect (in fact, it works just same as on clear coated paint)

i first called the manufacturer and got to talk with one of their engineers. He said, clay bar doesn’t not harm the material especially given the fact it has a clearcoat which attracts environmental contaminants just like paint clear coats.
