Carbon Flash Hood strip -> yes or no
Just wondering what the general consensus is with the C7 community about putting a black vinyl carbon flash hood stripe on my C7. I have a 2016 Laguna blue coupe with the carbon flash mirrors, spoiler, emblems and black wheels. I am torn between stripe or no stripe. The boss, my wife, prefers no stripe.

If you like it, do it. The factory adhesive stripe is actually painted and clear coated. Once applied you treat it like any other painted surface on the car including mild polishing to remove swirls or light scratches if needed. I think it looks great on lighter contrasting color cars.

Changed the look of mine. And I ended up doing the roof and halo panel behind it. Finishes it off nicely.

The carbon "flash" is nothing more than black metal flake of sorts - don't look too much like carbon fiber. I has some work done to my car and they removed the carbon flash an said owed it to me and would put it back on if I wanted it. I decided to go with something that looked snazzier and got a carbon fiber look from 3M and added a Z51 to it:

Mine isn't - its a flat matte finish and thus doesn't match the normal carbon flash painted items like the rear bumper. So I'm thinking of having it removed and replaced by a glossy vinyl carbon fiber weave that would match the exposed carbon roof (currently I have a transparent roof).

Stripe it.

The carbon fiber decals that GM uses are pretty awesome, if that's your thing. I saw a new 2019 ZR1 hatchback, with the carbon fiber roof. Looked pretty damned good!
I'm a non-carbon/ated, non-black fan on the mirrors. Everywhere ELSE, it looks good. Stinger it!
