Default Intermittent Vibration on smooth road

My 2015 Corvette with automatic transmission tends to cause vibrations on and off even on a smooth road. Does anyone have any idea of what might cause this? Sometimes I can drive for over 10 miles with all smooth but then it vibrates for just a few seconds. Speed does not seen to make any difference neither when accelerating.

Sounds like it could be a bad Torque Converter. Can read more here.

Most likely it’s the engine going into and out of V4 mode. Mine did the same; I kept thinking it was the road surface with some slight irregularities but after reading about this on this forum, I found out that it was the AFM system kicking in and out. Luckily, there’s a very easy solution. Go to Amazon, com and order a Range device to plug into your OBD port. It will keep the engine in V8 mode at all times.

Problem solved. You’re welcome!

My 2015 A8 did the same thing, dealer installed a new torque converter, no more problems. Your repair should be covered under your powertrain warranty.

If it is vibrating when in V4, the Torque Convertor needs to be repaired

Are you talking about a constant vibration, or intermittent vibrations?

The vibrations start and then stop but are not related to the V4 on or off in my C7.

I took my 2015 Corvette to the local Chevy dealer and they said they contacted the experts and were told to replace the fluid in the transmission to prevent the vibrations I was getting. I can not understand how replacing the oil in the transmission would stop the vibrations but will drive it and see when I pick it up.

They're going to Flush the Original transmission oil and replace it with a different more efficient oil for this problem.
When the engine is in V4 mode, the Clutch Packs in the TC are constantly engaging and disengaging.
And with the Original oil, they are not operating smoothly which is causing the vibrations.
With the Original oil, sometimes it does work smoothly and other times not, or not at all.
The new oil will make/help the Clutch Packs engage and disengage smoother, and in most cases, eliminate the vibration.

Default Trans fluid change

I was told busy the dealer that the new transmission fluid is designed to create more pressure and thereby reducing friction and slipping of the torque converter. Result is suppose to be smoother operation.

On a 2015 they should have replaced your torque converter. The flush is just another way to keep from replacing the torque converter. Give the flush a try, I have read about it working and not working. Replacing the TC is labor intensive and GM wants to delay it as long as they can. When the 2015's first started having TC problems you got a new TC or transmission. No fluid change was offered.

I have now driven over 100 miles and have felt no vibrations. I forgot to ask the dealer how long the factory power train warranty is since i am at 19k miles and over 3 years with my 2015 Vette. Can anyone tell me?
