Finally delivered
Dealer called me this morning..transport delivery truck on lot, watched as last one on transport which was his first delivery..driver asked me ..is the "hot one" I've got here? Absolutely ! 2019 LBR GS
Next question I have...dealer has offered a after market warranty protection package..of which "Tire and Wheel Protection" I might be interested. at a cost of $781. for 36 months...Has anyone else taken advantage of this offer in some shape or form? includes any cosmetic wheel damage from potholes, replacement , mounting & balancing. No deductible, no mileage limitations, and no limit on occurences.

I was/am tempted by this wheel warranty as well considering all the talk about bent wheels on grand sports. But I'd look over the contract really well before paying, I think I read on here a guy had a bent wheel and the warranty wouldn't cover it because they could still balance it and the tire held air. Also, if these wheels bend so easy, I'm thinking I'll keep the 781 and put it towards some forged wheels that won't bend. Also, for the tire warranty part of it, from what I've read these tires only last 7-10k miles, so you're only covered for that small amount of time, and I'm guessing they don't fully replace a tire if it's at half life, they probably just reduce the price of a new one?

I sure wish I had on my CV. My 18 Acura TLX clipped one on the lousy MI freeway craters -- $1468 for aluminum wheel and front/back Michelin tires. Fortunately I had it on that car - 0 cost to me. I was glad the CV was in the garage. Next one I get I will definitely take the hedge bet that it will pay for itself. At least here in MI -- roads are shi**y to say the least.

Depends on how much you're going to drive it

I would hang on to the $781.00.

I did and I’m glad I did, at 1,000 miles I caught a big pot hole in my GS that did considerable cosmetic damage. Warranty paid for itself already in my opinion.

Here in Western N.Y. roads are terrible....many times like an obstacle course...dealer says if I only keep car 2 years and trade it in, the premium would be pro rated and balance refunded to me. According to dealer Rep...tire wear is not taken into consideration, should I pick up nail or screw on run flats...tire would be under warranty for replacement at no charge to me
This is my 3rd C7...have been lucky so far..but my luck has to run out some time...cost adds about $15.00 / mo . payment....but have to do it when picking up vehicle..or forget it. Its a crap shoot and never know when the fickled finger of fate..will strike. Car is garaged end of Oct and out usually around May 1ST.
Dont know whats worse here...spending the money..or dealing with Sirius XM radio on phone !

Congrats on your new car! I purchased my 5 yr wheel & tire warranty from a forum vendor when I ordered my GS. I paid $399. No brainer. One tire; one event and paid in full and then some. I can't tell you how many nails and screws and bits of sharp metal my Corvettes have picked up over the years. $781 is highly negotiable. $500 would be a bargain for 5 yrs IMHO. No harm in 'self-insuring' and rolling the dice either.

Weird, my dealer said I could purchase the tire hazard warranty any time after purchase - I'm guessing it's a pressure tactic he's using on you. And again, if these tires only last 7-10k miles, that's a pretty expensive warranty for such a short time. You'd basically have to destroy 2 tires in a year to make the warranty worth it.

Where are you guys finding these cheaper 500-700 5 years protection plans at? I was just quoted $1000. Due to all the bent issues out there I thought I would looking into the GM tire and wheel protections.
