Corgi, based on other forums I'd guess fewer are owners... maybe half. But hey, who knows? Online, no data/validity needed; numbers bring in bucks.

There is no way to know how many are owners, obviously.

If I was going to guess, I would guess LESS THAN 50% of the members. Mostly because there are prior owners who still have accounts, people who died and their accounts are still open, and many others who were never owners, trolls, and just some who are interested in Vettes.

In the end, who really cares!!

If you are interested, when you hover your mouse over a user ID the number you see on the bottom of the screen is roughly the number you, or any person, signed up at (roughly because in the early days the numbering got somewhat out of wack for a while.) Mine is 9036 when I joined on Jun, 5 2000.

Learned something new today. I never knew that number was there, let alone what it meant. My number is 32579, member since 4/8/2002.

The member number is cumulative, but that does not say how many members are currently active. On another forum I am at there are over 300,000 members. But only 55% have ever posted anything, and only 2,000 members have posted over 1,000 posts. So less than 1% are actually what you could call contributing to the site. I am guessing it's pretty much the same thing here.

hmm, if that's so, since when I joined in '05 there've only been an added 55K members. Or, in 13 years, about 4200/yr.

Your number is 188566 so nearly 180K members joined from 2000 to 2005. The latest to sign up has number 572292, so over 1/2 million since I joined.

I see that the numbers for folks around since 1999 are not always accurate but after 2000 they seem to be consistent.

I thought that is the number of pages of users, not the number of users. But that dosen't make sense either. There are more than 2 IDs per page, which would make the number of users in the millions...

Update:
Never mind, I was looking at the wrong thing. Maybe that is active members? Or maybe the whole numbering system is so messed up we can't trust it at all...

Mine says "441,971."

It must mean something, as it's the same number every time I hover over my username, regardless of thread.
