The Rendezvous is a poor representation of the best in Memphis BBQ. Definitely the worst in Mphs. I've had.

Leaving Mphs, what was your route back to Houston? Curious if you crossed the Mississippi River at Greenville, MS, then through North Louisiana.

Car looked Arctic White in the other thread. Gotta go back and correct that.

Good write up. Did you tour the Corvette Plant? If not, are you entitled a future upgraded tour as a Rain Check?

I did the NCM in January 2006. My new C7 includes a one year until expiration of one tour. It's great that you chose the vert/M7. Good combo!

Great write up!

I agree with you OP about BBQ, Texas has some great BBQ and i grew up in Northern Virginia and they don't have nothing on Texas . . . I like the color combo, totally different, great to hear that there is not much difference between the Z51 and GS . . . I have a 14 Z51 and I love it . . i sometimes think about a GS . . .

I have to say I believe Virginia beef is a tastier, tender beef. Take a look at Butch here. This guy is 100% Non-GMO Corn fed USDA Triple A Certifed American beef. Now look at Texan Tiny. He looks like he eats tacos. Which beef do you want in your BBQ??? Looks like a slam dunk no?

We went through Memphis, then Little Rock, Texarkana and took 59 down through East TX. No plant tours available but yes I do get to go back and have the tour I missed when it’s open to the public again.

We enjoyed the ribs at Rendezvous but I think it was more of a check the box visit due to its fame. I’d we are back will seek out other places!

Absent losing mine in Harvey I still loved my Z51 but I just admit I think this GS has gotten me over her quickly.

Yeah but Virginia BBQ will put hair on your chest...male or female. Sweat will pour from your eyeballs.

yeah man. Nothing like a meeting a girl with a hairy chest on your first date and you’re headed for an evening at the BBQ Pit. Chances are you will both have a lot in common and their is much to talk about. Now that’s what I call a date.

I'll have to try them. Two of my favorites are McBee's in New Braunfels and County Line in Austin. I used to go to Otto's in River Oaks area of Houston, but read they moved "uptown" and haven't been there, or Goode Company, in awhile.

McBee’s is new to me, I will have to look for it when I’m over that way. We actually live in Houston but we are often in the Hill Country. Midway in Old Katy is pretty good. Cooper’s has a location in Austin attached to side of JW Marriot, it’s goid but not as good as original in Llano.

Congratulations on a beautiful new Corvette! Great write up too! Glad the weather cooperated with you, a snow/ice storm chased me home to NC when I did the museum delivery option on January 10th. Wishing you many happy, trouble-free miles!

Great post - looking forward to my delivery next month. Car is beautiful - I don't remember seeing that color combo with the hash marks before.

From your pics it looks like you have the front splash guards installed - (edited because I don't comprehend reading well) - did the NCM charge to install those? Any resistance as they are not a OEM part?

Thank you, I was a little concerned as there were initially some heavy rains predicted for part of our drive but most we saw was a few sprinkles
