Burning Brakes
My first car, purchased in 1957, was a 50 Dodge 4 door that got all of 50 miles to the quart of oil. I currently have a 2017 base Corvette convertible, purchased new.

Intermediate
First new car out of college was a 1973 Roadrunner, 340, 4spd, Forest Green. Didn't opt for the 440 because gas prices were climbing, pushing $.35/gal. Latest Corvette is 2017 Grand Sport, Admiral Blue, A8 bought in Feb 2017.

Lot of folks had pretty cool first cars! Mine was just a '69 Toyota Corona, but at least I added headers and a Hurst shifter (why? I don't know. . . .). Latest Vette is my 2017 Grand Sport.

16 Vettes and counting…..
First car was a '66 Corvette I bought in 1982 for $9K just before my 17th birthday (had been working and saving for a Vette since I was 12). Here are all the Vettes but there have been about 40 other cars interspersed over the years including a 911 (POS!), RX-7 Turbo II, a few Nissan Z's and an awesome Toyota Supra TT. Latest GS is obviously the best Corvette of the bunch, but I think the blue C6 GS was the best looking and the '66 is the one I should have kept. The '84 was a Z51 and was the stiffest production car I've ever driven. Kept it the longest though, about 3 years. It was a first year car and nothing ever went wrong with it......except my kidneys were pounded into mush.

Worked on cars with my Dad since ~8, gearhead by 13, bought first car at 16! Cars have been my hobby ever since! Learned a lot and caused early interest in engineering. Great relief from day to day issues when working and much fun now when semi-retired!
Pic of '41 Opera Coupe from High School Paper. I added mods of the "day," nosed decked, filled grill, etc. Built '51 Old engine from parts, bored 1/8 inch with '55 pistons and 3/4 race cam and big 4 barrel carb.
When I semi-retired built this '34 sedan with all of the parts thought of "over the years." Big block 502/502, long tube headers, Holley Double Pumper set back in tubbed chassis to get 53% weight in the 9 inch dif, 4 bar link rear. Coilovers and disk brakes in all 4 corners. Mostly goes to shows now.
Latest of 5 Vettes used as DD's in the last 30 years. Grand Sport has OEM Stage 2 aero package and many minor mods.
