Who's came from a C6 and went to a C7

All of the above! Really liked my 07 C6 Z51 but love my 17 C7 GS. Only complaints are: GM still hasn't improved the nav system as it's still a pain in the *** to use and the cup holders are worthless in both generations.

I went from a C5-C6-C7
One thing in regards to the C6-C7, the C6 was somewhat raw feeling compared to the C7, like John Wayne versus James Bond. Both are really nice effective sports cars, I feel the C7 is much better looking and more refined where as the C6 was a brutal ride but a badass one.

Had two C6's, including a GS. Now have a '18 GS and I can honestly say they are worlds apart. The transformation to the C7 is not only shockingly more appealing but, the complete mechanics and technology on the C7 is far more advanced. IMO.
Don't get me wrong, the C6 is a great car. It too, is far more advanced than it's predecessor's.

Love my 2006 vert, but the 2017 GS coupe is scads more civilized, significantly more powerful, and loaded with technology (for the good, so far!). I drive the 17 the most, but when I hop in the 06 I really feel the difference. Having said all that, they're both still a blast!!

2013 gs A to a 2018 z06 M. 2 different animals.
Gs beautiful lines and rear end. Good torque and easy to drive.
z06. Very modern electronics. Driver focused interior. Ridiculous torque and better handling. I'm old so I don't really love the back, but the hood, sharp lines, wickerbill and ground effects more than make up for it. Rev matching is very fun. C6 classic design. C7 Badass all around!

Went from a 2012 GS to a 2017 GS. The only thing I miss from the C6 is the sound of the exhaust under decel. I have NPP on both cars with a switch to keep the flaps open. C6 sounded better, probably due to the direct injection on the LT1 cutting fuel cleaner than the LS3 under decel.

Purchased the yellow 2007 C6 Z51,6 speed manual,#11 owned and by far the best corvette I had owned, then I purchased the 2014 C7 Z51,6 speed automatic, paddle shift and after 5 minutes driving the C7 the C6 became obsolete ,we still own both cars plus a C4 Z51 original survivor with 8200 documented miles and may purchase a mid engine if we are still healthy.

I had a C4-C5-C6-C7. Change from C4 to C5 big, not so much C5-C6, but C6 to C7 is huge. I went from manual to auto in C7 and like it.
Things I liked better on C6.
1. Z51 not as harsh
2. Seats more comfortable, haven't found sweet spot yet.
3. Visibility much better
4. Oil change easier without dry sump
5. Battery more accessible
6. More storage in small compartments in rear
7. Could hardwire radar detector directly to mirror
8. Navigation graphics better
9. Easier entry/exit
Of the above only visibility, harsh ride, and seat positioning of much consequence.
The C7 is so much more advanced that it has too many improvements to list. Just an awesome car that looks fantastic. I had an Aston Martin driver pull up to me yesterday and give a thumbs up.

One of each. A 2011 ZO6 Carbon Edition #199 of 252 and 2017 GSCE #095.

Went from a 2008 Coupe to a 2015 Convertible 3+ years ago. Have to say without doubt the C7 is better in every aspect. When I see a C6 now it looks dated.

As the title states who has owned a c6 and c7? What do you like better about each car? Which car were you more comfortable in? What were you pro's and con's of each model? I'm looking at purchasing either model but wanted input from people that have owned both. Whichever car i purchase it will be a weekend toy. I also would love to have a A&A/ECS/Procharger on it, not sure if that changes anything. Any good information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Differences:
Seats: C6 has pretty much flat platform seats with a hint of bolster on the seat bottom and more on the seat back. Little lateral support means you hang on to the steering wheel when cornering. I had my seats modified so they were the same as the base or GS cars so I had power inflatable side bolsters in them. When inflated they helped hold you in place. I also had to rebuild the seats because like all C5 and C6 seats the foam would settle down into the frame and get cut on the seat springs. This meant you gradually sank into the seat bottom over time and ended up sitting on some of the parts mounted to the bottom of the seat frame. C7 Competition Seats with the inflatable side bolsters hold your body in place much better. In comparison the lateral support is 100 on the C7 seats and 0 on the C6 seats. The C7 GT seat is about the same as the comp seat. C6 seat heaters got hotter but that isn't much to brag about. C7 has seat coolers that provide a nice gentle breeze on your butt and back. I like the seats in the C7 I didn't like them in the C6. The C6 seats were made for broad butted people who have trouble getting in and out of the car and are not interested in driving around a track.
Interior: C6 interior is an aged design. C7 interior is modern and engaging. The leather wrap in the C7 uses a suede on the dash/doors while the C6 used a grainy/pebbly type of leather.
Performance: C6Z weighs about 300 lbs less than the C7 Z. 3250 compared to 3564. The C7 LT4 has a lot of weight to haul around compared to the LS7. It has a lot of low end torque compared to the LS7 which is identical to the LT1 up to 4K rpm. People driving LS7s had problems driving them around town because they didn't know how to use the gas pedal. It is worse with the LT4 which has about 100 ft lb more torque coming off idle than the LS7 has. It has lots of low end grunt.
On the high end the C7 Stage 3 Z06/Z07 has a lot of aero to haul around and you can feel it really slowing acceleration when you hit 140. A C6Z or even a C7 Stingray with the LT1 can hang in there when it comes to the mid triple digits.
From a handling/driving standpoint the C7 especially the C7Z just has it hands down over any C6. Despite the 300 lbs weight disadvantage they can get around a corner as good as or in most cases better than a C6.
My 08Z was a Jet Stream Blue car and got a fair amount of attention from people at car shows. However, my black C7Z has people running from all over to see the car. I stopped at a fast food place when I first got it and the guy working behind the counter had to come out and take a picture. This happens all the time. People waving, saluting, taking pictures. In two years it hasn't let up. My previous Corvettes over the last the last 46 years got attention but nothing like this.
In two years I have put about 9100 miles on my car with about 3K of that being on the track. The car is a great track car and I have set a couple of my best lap times ever in this car.
Here are a couple of pictures of the two:

Well, biggest difference is no CD in the C7
Some here on the forum are still looking for it.
You have a bit more trunk room is a C6 vert than the C7.
So if those are important to you stick with a C6.

I had a '05 C6 that didn't last 2 years before I sold it. Crap quality, crap interior.
I now have an '18 C7 and the difference is incredible. The first impressions on quality are good, and the interior is relatively (to the C6) amazing.
I'd swear my non-Z51 Stringray handles better than my Z51 C6...

I went from 2008 Z06 to a 2017 Grand Sport.
I love the C7 looks better. I had more leg room in the C6.
I’m 6’1” and wish I had another inch of legroom in my C7.
Other than that I love the C7 and I’ve learned to deal with the leg room thing.
