Hey, that's my name! I don't name my cars but I have friends that took over an old Lincoln that they had for their daughter and named it Lester... total stealth reliable beater. Then they bought a nice used C-5 a year ago and named it Lucy. They have an L thing.

People name boats because boaters contact each other by VHF when on the water. We also need to call in when entering a marina and when contacting the cost guard. My 315 Four Winns was named "Compass Rose". I sold it about 3 years ago after my wife had a stroke.

Since I don't need to do any of the above when out in the corvette, it does not have a name.

I guess if one was getting personalized license plates a name could be appropriate for the plates, like putting the boat name on the stern of the boat. But you better be a damn polite driver then!

My C7 is named Zeus. The power of a wing-footed god. My wife's Acura is named Ricky Bobby because it came from Talladega, and I had a gold Mercedes Diesel that I called the Golden Turd, for obvious reasons.

Not the Vettes, but we had a 98 Dakota with a Leonard camper shell so with that name in 4 inch high letters across the back window, the name just stuck.

We also have a 2008 Caravan in Sunburst Orange my wife calls "Tigger". I go along with it because the suspension has always been a little bouncy trouncy flouncy pouncy to me.

A few of my buddies named my C6 YOU LUZE Lucy. For some reason I can just picture Ricky Ricardo saying it after a win.

Not really, I just call it the vette when referring to it.

Since it is WGG, I did call it Sasha for a little bit when I first got it though.

I never named a car before the Vettes.

My VR Z06 was named Rose. My '05 LMB Vert is named Bertha (the big blue-butted tough ol' broad).

My '14 P.E. Vert is named Boudicca, the red-headed warrior queen.

Most of my cars have not had a name but for some reason I have named the two Corvettes I have had. The Red C6 was Scarlet and the current CRY C7 is Tweety.

You gotta give em a name. Otherwise your family can't tell if you are talking about Red Rover, Tex or Valentine...

Red C6 was Roxanne.

Yellow C7 is Cheyenne.

I still refer to the car as "The Vette" whenever I'm talking about it, though. The names are just kinda... there.

I've named every car I've ever had, and I always will. I still remember them all:
Susan, Jenny, Michelle, Cindi, Jamie, Karen, Amy, Natalie, Candi. Every one has a story between my wife and myself.
